Job Summary:
The Youth Activities Manager leads the planning, execution, and growth of all youth programming and activities, ensuring programs are safe, engaging, organized, and aligned with the organization’s mission and standards. Reporting directly to the Director of Youth Engagement, this role works collaboratively with Club leadership, committees, staff, and members to create high-quality experiences that support youth development, community connection, participation, and member engagement through strong leadership, creativity, relationship building, and continuous program improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Youth Program Leadership & Development
- Plan, implement, oversee, and evaluate youth activities, camps, classes, childcare programs, events, and special programs.
- Develop engaging, inclusive, and age-appropriate programming that supports the social, emotional, recreational, and developmental needs of youth participants.
- Create seasonal calendars, schedules, themed events, and annual programming plans.
- Monitor participation, attendance, and member feedback to identify opportunities for program growth and improvement.
- Maintain accurate schedules, attendance records, reports, and other program documentation.
- Collaborate with the Director of Youth Engagement and other Club departments to develop new programs and family-focused experiences.
- Ensure programs are organized, well-staffed, and delivered consistently with Club standards.
Swim Team Support
- Coordinate swim team registration, scheduling, communication, meet preparation, and team events.
- Partner with the Head Swim Coach to support an organized, engaging, and growth-focused swim program.
- Support swim coaches and staff in maintaining professionalism, consistency, and a positive team culture.
- Assist with swim meets, celebrations, spirit events, and initiatives designed to strengthen participation and family engagement.
- Monitor participation and family feedback and communicate opportunities for improvement to the Director of Youth Engagement.
Staff Leadership & Supervision
- Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate Youth program and childcare staff.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, feedback, and support to Youth staff.
- Foster a professional, team-oriented environment centered on accountability, communication, collaboration, and member service.
- Ensure staff understand and follow Club policies, safety procedures, operational standards, and expectations.
- Identify training and professional development opportunities that strengthen staff performance and program quality.
Member Experience & Engagement
- Serve as a primary point of contact for parents, families, members, and youth participants.
- Build positive, professional relationships with members and families and create a welcoming, community-centered environment.
- Address questions, concerns, behavioral issues, and service challenges promptly and professionally.
- Promote youth programs through newsletters, social media collaboration, flyers, Club communications, and other appropriate outreach.
- Collaborate with other Club departments to support family events, community programming, and member engagement initiatives.
- Deliver a high level of service that supports member satisfaction and the overall Club experience.
Safety, Operations & Administration
- Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive environment for youth participants and staff.
- Ensure compliance with Club policies, emergency procedures, licensing requirements, staffing ratios, and applicable safety and risk management standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of program spaces, equipment, and supplies to ensure safety, cleanliness, and readiness.
- Maintain appropriate staffing and operational coverage for all assigned programs and activities.
- Assist with budgets, purchasing, supply ordering, expense tracking, reporting, and program evaluations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to programs, staffing, incidents, and participation.
- Participate in leadership meetings, Club events, trainings, and other youth engagement initiatives as assigned.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Youth Engagement.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Hospitality, Education, Child Development, Recreation, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of experience in youth programming, camps, childcare, aquatics, recreation, or a related field.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Experience coordinating youth activities, family programming, events, or swim team operations preferred.

- Knowledge of youth development, recreation programming, and applicable safety practices.
Certifications & Requirements
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required or obtainable within a designated period after hire.
- Successful completion of required background screening and applicable clearances.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and actively participate in youth activities for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist with event setup and breakdown.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Occasional travel for meetings, training, competitions, or events may be required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly interactive environment with youth, families, members, and staff.
