Position Summary

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading the development, implementation, optimization, and sustainment of manufacturing processes supporting aerospace, commercial, and military products fabricated from metallic and non-metallic materials. This position serves as the technical lead for manufacturing engineering activities, provides leadership and guidance to Manufacturing Engineers, and acts as the primary point of contact for customer-related manufacturing projects.

Responsibilities

· Serve as the lead Manufacturing Engineer and technical mentor for Manufacturing Engineers and Engineering Technicians.

· Provide direction, guidance, training, and oversight to manufacturing engineering personnel.

· Serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for customer manufacturing-related projects and new program introductions.

· Lead manufacturing activities associated with customer programs, product launches, and production transfers.

· Lead studies to identify process improvements, capacity enhancements, waste reduction opportunities, and cost savings.

· Lead evaluation, justification, and implementation of new manufacturing processes, equipment, and automation systems.

· Ensure manufacturing processes comply with released engineering drawings, specifications, manufacturing plans, and customer requirements.

· Support production through troubleshooting process and technical issue resolution.

· Develop and maintain BOMs, BOOs, routers, and manufacturing documentation.

· Lead tooling and fixture design and implementation.

· Support AS9100, ISO, customer, and regulatory audits.

· Lead root cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions.

· Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Operations, Program Management, Supply Chain, and customers.

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

· Perform MRB authority responsibilities when qualified.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.

· Minimum 10 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.

· Proven experience leading manufacturing engineering projects and initiatives.

· Experience leading, mentoring, or supervising Manufacturing Engineers and technical personnel.

· Strong understanding of manufacturing process development, validation, and optimization.

· Excellent communication, organization, project management, and customer-facing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

· Aerospace, defense, automotive, or other regulated manufacturing experience.

· Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.

· Experience with Epicor or similar ERP/MRP systems.

· Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent CAD software.
