As a Call Center Representative at Illinois State Credit Union, you will be an integral part of our member services team, providing exceptional customer support through various communication channels. Your primary responsibilities will include answering a high volume of calls and chats, responding to voicemails, text messages, home banking messages, and member service emails. Additionally, you will be assigned various projects and reports, and you will review Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) transactions. This position requires excellent communication skills, multitasking abilities, and a strong attention to detail.


  

Call Handling: Answer a minimum of 1,000 calls per month, with a minimum of at least 400 calls answered. Provide courteous and knowledgeable assistance to members, addressing their inquiries, resolving issues, and providing accurate information about our products and services.


Chat Support: Respond to at least 200 chats per month, ensuring prompt and professional assistance to members through our chat platform. Effectively multitask to handle multiple chats simultaneously while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.


Voicemail Management: Retrieve and respond to voicemails left by members in a timely manner. Provide thorough and helpful responses, addressing any questions or concerns expressed.


Text Message Support: Respond promptly and accurately to incoming text messages from members, offering assistance, and resolving their inquiries or requests.


Home Banking Messages: Monitor and respond to messages received through the home banking platform. Address member inquiries, technical issues, and requests for assistance related to online banking services.


Member Service Emails: Handle member service emails efficiently and effectively. Provide comprehensive responses to member inquiries, concerns, or requests, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all interactions.


Assigned Projects and Reports: Take ownership of assigned projects and reports, completing them within the specified deadlines. This may involve tasks related to process improvement, quality assurance, data analysis, or member satisfaction surveys. Follow instructions and guidelines provided for each project or report and collaborate with team members or supervisors as necessary.


Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) Review: Review RDC transactions submitted by members to ensure compliance with credit union policies and procedures. Verify the accuracy and legitimacy of deposited checks, perform necessary investigations, and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate department.


Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of member interactions, emails, chats, voicemails, RDC reviews, and project-related activities. Ensure proper documentation is recorded in the credit union's systems for future reference and analysis.


Compliance: Adhere to all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including privacy, security, and confidentiality guidelines. Stay updated on industry standards and best practices to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.


Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to address member needs effectively. 

Share knowledge, best practices, and insights to enhance overall performance and customer satisfaction.


Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance member experiences, and optimize efficiency within the call center. Provide feedback and suggestions to supervisors for process enhancements and system improvements.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant certifications are a plus.

Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a call center or financial institution.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

Proficiency in using computer systems and software, including CRM platforms, chat platforms, email clients, and Microsoft Office suite.

Familiarity with banking products, services, and procedures is desirable.

Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
