About the role:
We are seeking a seasoned Executive Project Manager to lead mid- to large-scale commercial flooring projects from concept to completion. As the quarterback and primary face of project execution, you'll coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, and general contractors to deliver work on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The position oversees schedules, budgets, and construction documentation while serving as a trusted partner to clients from start to finish. Success in this role takes a proactive, organized, and solution-oriented leader with construction expertise who stays steady when plans change and takes ownership of results. Everything we do is built on great work and a team that supports each other, and you'll play a real part in how our culture continues to grow.
What you’ll do:
- Lead all phases of project execution from initiation to closeout across multiple mid- to large-scale commercial flooring projects.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
- Conduct regular job site visits and partner with superintendents to monitor progress, resolve field challenges, and strengthen relationships with subcontractors and GCs.
- Oversee all project financials, including budgeting, revenue forecasting, labor buyouts, billing, pay applications, and subcontractor invoice approvals to meet profitability goals.
- Complete monthly WIP reconciliations by reviewing costs to date against budget and forecasting costs for upcoming months.
- Manage the full document workflow including submittals, RFIs, ASIs, CCDs, change orders, and pick tickets, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications to guide field execution, resolve discrepancies, and keep work aligned with project goals.
- Collaborate closely with superintendents, project coordinators, sales, and fellow project managers, as well as vendors and manufacturers on quality control, timelines, and training.
- Maintain proactive and transparent communication with clients and general contractors, managing expectations and fostering a positive customer experience.
- Oversee and support project team members by onboarding, mentoring, setting clear expectations, and providing ongoing guidance and feedback.
- Champion a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability while upholding Elements’ policies and project standards.
Who you are:
- 5+ years of experience in commercial construction project management within general contracting or a specialty trade. Backgrounds in construction management, owner's representation, or development will also be considered. Flooring experience, including knowledge of installation systems and warranty processes, is a plus but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience. A PMP certification or similar credential is a plus.
- Strong financial acumen, with proven success managing budgets, forecasting, WIP, and change orders, along with experience interpreting construction documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, BIM 360, and Measure Square.
- Experience leading project teams and managing large scopes, with a passion for fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Clear communicator who builds strong relationships with GCs, internal teams, and other project stakeholders.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent time management skills to meet deadlines in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Skilled at analyzing problems, thinking critically, and making solution-oriented decisions while adapting quickly when plans change.
- Eager to keep learning and grow your skills, including using AI tools to support workflow, research, and document analysis.
