Summary of position
The Manufacturing Clerk supports manufacturing operations by maintaining accurate inventory transactions, production records, material movements, and operational reports. The role connects Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Inventory Control so leaders and production teams have reliable data and timely visibility to material status. Working in Oracle, Cognos, and Microsoft applications, the clerk helps reconcile system activity to physical movement, maintains audit-ready documentation, and escalates discrepancies for resolution. This role supports production scheduling and material readiness but does not own scheduling, inventory planning, procurement, labor management, or production performance.
Responsibilities
- Process and verify Oracle and Cognos transactions for raw materials, work in process, and finished goods to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Maintain daily production records, work-order documentation, material movement reports, lot-control records, and other required manufacturing documentation.
- Coordinate material requests and confirm material availability and staging status to support production readiness and schedule attainment.
- Track inventory movements among manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, and inventory-control functions and promptly communicate exceptions.
- Reconcile system transactions to physical inventory movement, investigate variances, and escalate unresolved discrepancies to the appropriate owner.
- Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and audit activities by preparing records, researching differences, and documenting corrections.
- Prepare accurate daily, weekly, and monthly production summaries and key performance reports for Manufacturing leadership using Microsoft applications.
- Update production schedules and work-order records based on management direction while preserving clear accountability for scheduling decisions.
- Monitor transaction timeliness, data accuracy, and documentation completeness and follow up with cross-functional partners when information is missing.
- Support continuous-improvement projects by organizing data, maintaining action records, and recommending practical improvements to administrative processes.

Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of administrative, data-entry, inventory, warehouse or operations-support experience.
- Basic-to-intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn and use Oracle, Cognos, and related manufacturing systems.
- Accuracy, organization, and follow-through when reconciling system records to physical activity.
- Clear cross-functional communication and the ability to prioritize time-sensitive work.
Preferred
- Experience supporting manufacturing, warehouse, inventory-control, or material-flow operations.
- Oracle and Cognos experience or comparable ERP and WMS experience.
- Familiarity with work orders, lot control, cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and production reporting.
- Experience in a high-volume consumer-products or chemical-manufacturing environment.
