Summary/Objective

The Grants and Foundations Coordinator plays a key role in advancing the mission of Habitat for Humanity Tampa Bay Gulfside (HFHTBG) by securing and stewarding foundation and corporate funding through strategic prospect research, grant writing, relationship management, and grant reporting. Additionally, the position is responsible for managing relationships with an existing pool of foundations. This position will maintain programs in accordance with performance targets set by the VP of Development and Director of Development.

Grants Management & Compliance

  • Research, write, and coordinate the submission of grant proposals, applications, reports, and supporting documentation in accordance with funder requirements and deadlines.
  • Manage the grants calendar, tracking systems, and records to ensure timely completion of proposals, reports, compliance requirements, and stewardship activities.
  • Maintain accurate grant data, documentation, deliverables, and deadlines within Bloomerang and other organizational systems.
  • Collaborate with program, finance, and construction teams to gather programmatic, financial, and impact information required for grant proposals and reporting.
  • Monitor grant-funded activities and reporting obligations to ensure compliance with funder requirements.
  • Prepare grant pipeline and performance reports for Development leadership.

Research & Funder Relations

· Research and identify prospective family foundation, corporate, and community funding opportunities that align with organizational priorities.

· Re-engage lapsed donors and funders through targeted outreach to renew support.

· Maintain and update a comprehensive grants prospect database, including application requirements, deadlines, funding history, and engagement activities.

· Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with foundation and corporate funders through regular communication, stewardship, and follow-up activities.

· Coordinate funder meetings, site visits, calls, and other engagement opportunities.

· Monitor funder priorities, trends, and guidelines and communicate relevant opportunities to the Development team.

· Prepare briefing materials, funder profiles, and research summaries to support cultivation and solicitation efforts.


Storytelling & Communications

· Develop compelling written content, including homeowner stories, impact narratives, testimonials, and program updates for grant proposals, reports, and donor communications.

· Collaborate with program, construction, and family services teams to gather stories, photos, success metrics, and participant outcomes.

· Ensure grant and donor-facing communications accurately reflect organizational impact, priorities, and branding standards.

· Maintain a library of stories, photos, and impact data to support fundraising and stewardship efforts.


General Development Support

· Provide support for fundraising campaigns, events, sponsorship initiatives, and other development activities as needed.

· Assist the Development team with prospect research for new sponsors, donors, foundations, and community partners.

· Support donor stewardship activities, including acknowledgments, impact reporting, and recognition efforts.

· Participate in department meetings and contribute to the achievement of annual development goals.

Work Environment

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds on a necessary basis, occasionally required to stand and walk for long extended periods, climb or balance and stoop or kneel.


Position Type

This is a full-time hourly, compensated position.


Education, Experience, and Attributes

· At least 2 years experience in grant writing and experience managing a grant database. 

· Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information.

· Ability to speak and write English fluently.

· Builds constructive and effective relationships.
