The Youth Development Professional (YDP) plans, supervises, and implements a variety of high-yield activities and targeted programs with middle school Club members, focusing on academics, healthy lifestyles, character & leadership, and career exploration. The YDP also helps members make appropriate choices about their education, career, social, physical, and emotional needs.

Essential Functions of the Position

• Program Facilitation & Mentoring: Lead and supervise program activities, modeling effective group management, instruction, and youth engagement to ensure a safe, enriching environment.
• Curriculum & Lesson Planning: Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum, lesson plans, and program calendars. Support Youth Development Professionals (YDPs) with daily program preparation, data collection, and implementation to drive engagement.
• Case File Management: Maintain accurate case files, including tracking progress, documenting program outcomes, and updating youth development plans for individual members.
• Specialized Events & Programs: Plan, promote, and lead specialized events, such as leadership training sessions and other enrichment activities. Recruit members for programs and track participant engagement.
• Administrative Duties: Complete all required documentation, including program evaluations, participant records, and budget tracking for supplies. Submit all paperwork on time.
• Facility & Supply Management: Ensure program areas are clean and organized. Monitor supply needs and manage inventory within budget. Report maintenance needs and help keep the facility safe and clean.
• Training & Development: Participate in ongoing training opportunities to stay current with youth development trends and best practices.

Qualifications for the Ideal Candidate

• Ability to work Monday through Friday between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m.; general hours will be scheduled for 15-29 hours per week during the School Year. Summer hours are assigned based on enrollment and attendance and are not guaranteed.
• Must have one of the following: At least/minimum of 48 credit hours (combined from institutions or one institution); Earned an Associate's Degree (AA conferred); Have a BA or higher; Have taken and passed the CBEST minimum requirements and can provide passing certification documentation.
• At least two years of experience working with youth, preferably middle school youth. Previous experience working in a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth-serving organization is a plus.
• Experience facilitating programs and developing engaging, educational activities for youth.
• Prior experience in mentoring and managing case files preferred.
• Good character, integrity, and adaptability.
• Must lead with good judgment, set healthy boundaries, demonstrate patience, and show emotional intelligence.
• Experience working with diverse populations and communities and knowledge of how to build an inclusive environment for kids and teens.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle check.
• Background check and TB test clearance required.
• Must obtain/maintain a current CPR & First Aid Certification upon employment
