This role is part of the Product Development Electrical Engineering – Sustainment Team that is focused on product sustainment and continuous improvement. The role is responsible for supporting the electrical hardware launched for SoundOff Signal products.  

Essential Job Functions

Demonstrates SoundOff Signal’s Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers. 

Perform project engineering duties for sustaining launched products. 

Schematic and PCB layout design revisions using Altium schematic capture and layout software. 

Coordinate in-house, and offsite electrical lab testing in support of new product development, competitive benchmarking, and process product changes. 

Support harness drawing design updates, with cross-functional teams. 

Develop concepts, drawings, charts, or other project/design documentation. 

Troubleshooting prototypes and recommending design improvements to existing designs. 

Provide engineering support for electrical assembly process improvements. 

Read and follow SoundOff Signal Work Instructions 

Other duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements 

Must Have: 

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.  

Strong working knowledge of analog and digital electronics design theory. 

Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with people.   

Investigative skills – ability to resolve basic electronic problems or offer proposed solutions to more complex challenges. 

Strong problem-solving abilities. 

Effective communication skills. 

Effective time management skills. 

An ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

An ability to work well in an engineering team with a co-located production environment. 

Experience with safely operating basic lab equipment such as DMMs, power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc. 

Proficiency in the basic Microsoft Office Suite and Teams. 

Able to perform job consistently and without excessive absenteeism or tardiness. 

Nice to Have: 

Previous work experience in an engineering environment involving prototype fabrication, validation and/or design support preferred. 

General mechanical aptitude in a shop environment (hand tools, light duty power tools, calipers, etc.) is beneficial. 

Automotive electronic wiring background. 

Proficient soldering skills 

Physical Requirements 

Able to lift up to 35 lbs. 

Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate and/or reach throughout an entire shift. 

Must be able to handle and work with small parts. 

Working Conditions 

Mostly office environment, occasional light manufacturing environment  

Fast-paced, team-oriented environment 

Low noise level in a temperature-controlled setting 

Some level of domestic and/or international travel may be required  

Hybrid work location (mixture of onsite and offsite days in a week). 

Primarily normal business hours with the ability to occasionally flex hours.
