Position Summary

The Production Manager defines, plans, implements and monitors production strategies, policies, and results with a focus on profitability for the robotic welding in New Jersey

Essential Job Responsibilities  

1. Responsible for Robotic Welding Production

• Responsible to receive shipments of components and parts with a focus on accuracy and PO
• Plan and manage production schedule to fulfill current or forecasted orders for manufactured parts or products to meet customer deliverables 
• Interpret specifications and drawings and proactively resolves any issues with Engineering at any point in the production schedule
• meeting schedules and deadlines
• Coordinate with Customer Service and QA during production and proactively address any issue

2. Proactive maintenance of facility and equipment 

• Proactively ensure safety procedures and processes are met with the Fabrication Lead.
• Initiate and facilitate safety meetings
• Responsible for direct or third party repair and maintenance of machinery, cranes, forklifts, equipment

3. Manage the Department

• Manage the staff with respect to strategic and proactive hiring, performance management, disciplinary action, and termination of employment. Identify and provide coaching, mentoring, and training to enhance employee professional development and add value to the company. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of robotic welding
• Ability to read blueprints

Working Conditions 

Physical Requirements

• Able to sit at and work on a computer for extended periods
• Able to push, carry, lift, and move materials up to 75 pounds 
• Able to walk across a facility ranging from an office environment to a production facility which includes flights of stairs
• 10% travel required to various VMC locations 

Work Environment 

• Typical production environment
• Willing and able to work additional hours as needed to ensure responsibilities are met

Minimum Qualifications

• 5 years hands on experience managing different disciplines in a manufacturing environment
• College degree is a plus
