The Drexel Way:

We don’t just sell lumber; we Supply. Happiness. Drexel is Team Member-owned and community-driven. With six retail hubs and three manufacturing plants across Wisconsin, we’ve been a Top Workplace every year since 2011. Why? Because we hire for heart and train for skill. When you join Team Blue, you aren't just a team member - you’re an owner.

The Mission:

As a Fleet Assistant, your primary objective is to keep our company vehicle fleet clean, properly equipped, accurately branded, and safely positioned where needed. You are responsible for washing and detailing vehicles that have hit end of service, removing and applying vinyl graphics, upfitting new vehicles with company gear, shuttling vehicles between locations, and maintaining fleet inventory, among other assigned tasks. As a key support partner for our Fleet team, you ensure that our vehicles represent Drexel's high standards of quality and professionalism on every jobsite.

Defining the Role:
  • Vehicle Detailing & Washing: Thoroughly clean interiors and exteriors of vehicles prepared for transfer, resale, or new driver assignment.
  • Decals & Graphics: Operate a vinyl cutter to make graphics; apply new company decals and patiently remove old decals from offboarded units.
  • Equipment Upfitting: Install company-supplied tools, racks, and safety equipment onto new fleet vehicles.
  • Vehicle Transport: Safely drive and relocate vehicles between store yards, dealerships, and regional locations.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an organized stock of vehicle equipment, hardware, and detailing supplies.
The Essentials:
  • Age & Driver License: Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid Driver’s License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Shift Availability: Morning shift availability (window between 5:00 AM and 1:30 PM / 2:30 PM).
  • Key Traits: Patient, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and possesses good common sense and practical hands-on aptitude.
Balance In Action:
  • Flexible Schedule: Will-call, part-time hours set in advance on a weekly basis (ranging from 0 to 10–15 hours/week depending on truck arrivals and project volume).
What Success Looks Like:

Performance is measured by your direct impact on fleet presentation, upfit quality, and safe vehicle delivery:

  • Detailing & Decal Quality: Vehicles prepared cleanly with zero damage during graphic removal.
  • Upfit Completeness: New vehicles outfitted accurately with all required gear before going to the field.
  • Safe Transportation: On-time vehicle transfers executed with zero driving incidents.
  • Workload Driver: The primary workload metric is the total number of vehicles cleaned, upfitted, de-badged, and relocated based on fleet demand.
