GENERAL DESCRIPTION OR SUMMARY

This individual operates or tends a variety of glass fabrication machines, such as furnaces, cutting, to meet safety standards.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

•Sets up and operates a variety of computer numerical controlled machines used in the production of facades glass such as furnaces, cutting, laminating, digital printing to meet safety, quality and production standards if needed to ensure the best calibration level within Press Glass tolerances.

•Program computer to ticket order.

•Attaches tickets/drawing to glass and loads on racks in preparation of next department.

•Ensures safety, quality and production levels are met.

•Inspects and measures glass to ensure quality and customer requirements.

•Cleans and maintains machine according to PRESS GLASS standards.

•May read and update the production schedule.

•Lift up to 30lbs by self.

•Uses of hand and fingers to operate overhead lift and/or computer screens/keyboards and other machinery.

•Requires standing.

•Observing the provisions of the Labor Law, Work Regulations, and OSHA standards.

•Performing other activities as instructed by team leader, foreman or supervisors

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATIONAL SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

•High School Diploma or GED.

•Read and understand tickets and work orders.

•Basic math skills including the ability to read a tape measure.

•Basic computer skills. 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

•Requires continuous standing, sitting, reaching, walking, talking, stooping, kneeling, crawling and lifting.

•Manually lift up to 40-50 pounds on a regular basis; or more using assistance.

•Includes close, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision with ability to adjust focus.

•May require occasional weekend, holiday and evening work.

•Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


 WORK ENVIRONMENT

•Work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential function of this job.

•Noise level is usually moderate.

•Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.
