Summary

The QA Tech I will be charged with operating Ipsen’s warranty claim system from initial submission to final resolution. The QA Tech I will also oversee the warranty Return Material Authorization (RMA) process. Additional responsibilities include support roles within the QDW Department such as auditing and process development.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review customer claims including failure mode, operating conditions, and maintenance history.
  • Verify eligibility including product coverage, warranty period, and terms & conditions of the sale.
  • Evaluate claim details for completeness and accuracy.
  • Participate in technical reviews with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or Service Departments.
  • Coordinate with QA Engineer to see if claims should be approved or denied.
  • Generates warranty replacement orders and organize with internal departments to ensure quickest possible delivery to customer site.
  • Generates appropriate monthly, quarterly, and annual documentation on warranty expenses.
  • Reviews warranty Return Material Authorization (RMA) requests and issues RMA to requestor as required.
  • Close RMA request upon receipt of returned goods.
  • Conduct assigned internal audits to evaluate conformance with established procedures, applicable standards, and QMS requirements.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and customer service teams to improve process and quality performance.
  • Support the development, revision, and maintenance of standard operating procedures, work instructions and quality documentation in accordance with applicable ISO standards.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to warranty claims, audit findings, and other quality issues as assigned.
  • Provides administrative support to the Quality Assurance Engineer as required.
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of ERP and CRM tools such as Salesforce or Syteline.
  • Advanced computer skills with high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn complex OEM components to include electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to use industry-specific software to identify correct components for warranty orders.
  • Possess a strong attention to detail and sense of urgency with an ability to prepare warranty orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Basic understanding of quality management systems, applicable quality standards, and internal auditing principles.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and be flexible with changing business needs in a team environment.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or other advanced training or certification program strongly preferred. 
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in quality assurance, quality control, manufacturing quality, warranty/product quality, or a related technical quality function required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS) strongly preferred
  • Experience working with Salesforce and/or Syteline ERP systems preferred.
