Project Manager – Position Overview
As a Project Manager (PM) at STG Communications, you are the central figure responsible for planning, executing, and closing out construction projects across various disciplines. This position oversees the complete lifecycle of projects, from budgeting and sales support to safety oversight and customer satisfaction. With a balanced focus on field collaboration and office leadership, the Project Manager ensures that every project is delivered profitably, safely, and in alignment with STG’s core values.
You serve as the bridge between field teams, clients, vendors, and internal departments, using data, leadership, and proactive communication to drive successful outcomes. Your ability to manage operations while also nurturing culture and continuous improvement makes this role essential to the company’s long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all project phases from bid through closeout, ensuring profitability and efficiency.
- Manage financials, including job costing, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Support sales efforts and seek new business opportunities in coordination with leadership.
- Promote a positive culture and provide leadership that motivates cross-functional teams.
- Ensure all job sites meet company and regulatory safety standards; oversee safety audits as needed.
- Research and implement improved construction methods, tools, and technologies.
- Track and update project progress using tools such as Pathwave, Microsoft Office Suite, Foundation, and Paylocity.
- Maintain strong communication with customers, municipalities, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Day-to-Day Activities
- Coordinate daily crew dispatch and support field teams through site visits and troubleshooting.
- Conduct job walks and compliance checks to ensure construction quality and safety.
- Review and develop bid packages, project scopes, and pricing models.
- Monitor project timelines and work with CMs to ensure alignment with operational goals.
- Update schedules, documentation, and financial reports across multiple systems.
- Communicate with customers regarding updates, issues, and delivery expectations.
- Participate in regular internal meetings with CMs, Safety, Logistics, and PM support teams.
Reporting Structure
- Report directly to the Vice President (VP).
- Work closely with Project Coordinators (PCs), Construction Managers (CMs), Field Teams, Safety, Accounting, Marketing, and Executive Leadership.
