POSITION SUMMARY:

The Paint Technician is responsible for finishing and painting plastic parts using various types of paints and primers to meet customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Spray various types of primer and paints, and Mold Tech textures with various types of paint.
• Match textures and/or colors to Pantone or customer supplied samples.
• Add rub-on graphics to painted parts in precise locations when necessary.
• Reworking/repairing to improve the quality of the paint job.
• Understand all applicable ISO and QMS related processes (and any changes to them), ensures their effectiveness and assists in achieving their intended results.
• Maintain the QMS required contributions to product or service conformity, product safety, and ethical behavior.
• Complies to work area PPE requirements. 
• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Promote a positive work environment.
• Other duties, tasks, and responsibilities that may be assigned at any time.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent. 
• Prior experience with painting.
• Knowledgeable in mixing and blending pigments or dyes to color match to customer specifications.
• Ability to read and understand basic work instructions.
• Prior experience weighing compounds or paints.
• Prior production experience.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Superb organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with a team.
• Comfortable with multitasking.
• Wood working experience.
• Good housekeeping skills.
• Entry-level computer skills (email, data entry, Microsoft Office Suite).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and other mandatory safety equipment.
• For the most part, ambient temperatures are climate controlled due to production requirements
• This role regularly operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to airborne powders and particulates. The ability to work in such conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation, is an essential function of the position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to accomplish the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on the production floor
• Primarily works in a combination of office and manufacturing environments
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items up to 25 pounds
• May be required to bend, stoop, reach, and use hands to handle equipment or components
• Ability to work near manufacturing equipment, including exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, and varying temperatures
• Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday.
• Proper lifting techniques required.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers is required for typing, data entry, and operating standard office equipment.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and protective footwear
