Elmet Technologies is hiring a 2nd Shift Machine Operator – Furnace/Sintering to join our manufacturing team in Euclid, Ohio.

Your Schedule

This is a full-time, 2nd Shift position at our Euclid, Ohio manufacturing facility. You’ll work as part of our production team operating and monitoring specialized furnaces and equipment used to manufacture high-performance metal products.


What You’ll Do

As a Machine Operator in Furnace/Sintering, you’ll be responsible for safely operating production furnaces and related equipment while helping ensure our products meet established specifications and quality requirements.


During a typical shift, you’ll:

  • Safely operate and monitor production furnaces and/or boxes
  • Prepare furnaces and materials for production
  • Select the proper bricks for loading parts
  • Visually inspect and properly handle green and finished parts
  • Safely load and unload parts and materials, including sand
  • Monitor and record furnace speed and temperature and make appropriate adjustments when needed
  • Inspect parts and accurately record results using tools such as micrometers, dial calipers, and dial indicators
  • Identify production orders and maintain accurate product traceability
  • Follow established safety procedures, including procedures for loss of power involving hydrogen
  • Complete required production and inspection records
  • Keep your work area clean, safe, and organized
  • Perform other production duties as assigned by group leaders or supervisors



Requirements

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have basic knowledge of measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial calipers, and dial indicators
  • Can perform basic arithmetic
  • Can interpret and follow specifications and production requirements
  • Can follow written and verbal instructions
  • Can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
  • Show up consistently and can be counted on
  • Enjoy hands-on work
  • Are comfortable working around manufacturing equipment
  • Pay attention to details
  • Take safety seriously
  • Can accurately record production and inspection information

  • Are a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident, as required by business needs and applicable trade compliance requirements

Previous manufacturing experience is helpful, but it is not required. If you’ve worked in manufacturing, warehousing, construction, automotive, maintenance, food production, equipment operation, skilled trades, or another hands-on environment, you may already have skills that can help you succeed at Elmet.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate production equipment to meet quality, delivery, and productivity goals

• Perform machine setups, changeovers, and process monitoring according to production schedules

• Conduct equipment inspections and maintain housekeeping standards (5S)

• Assist with troubleshooting and minor equipment maintenance activities

• Maintain accurate production records, work orders, and inventory transactions

• Ensure product traceability and compliance with quality requirements

• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other industrial equipment

• Cross-train on multiple machines and support departmental needs as required


What Success Looks Like

  • Proper selection of bricks for part loading.
  • Proper visual inspection and handling of green and finished parts.
  • Proper/safe loading and unloading of parts, including sand.
  • Monitoring and recording of speed and temperature for assigned furnaces and make the proper adjustments as needed.
  • Perform inspections and record results on proper form using simple tools as micrometers, dial calipers, and dial indicators.
  • Safe operation of equipment with strong adherence to company safety standards
  • Consistent production output meeting quality and delivery expectations
  • Accurate documentation, inventory transactions, and product traceability records
  • Effective machine setups and efficient changeovers
  • Strong equipment care, housekeeping, and preventive maintenance support
  • Flexibility and willingness to support multiple production areas


Ideal Candidate Profile

• 1-3 years of manufacturing or machine operation experience
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred
• Ability to use measuring devices and perform basic mathematical calculations
• Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or industrial equipment preferred
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and attendance
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a production environment
• Ability to work a 12-hour night shift schedule, including weekends
