Procurement Manager
Description
  • Plans, organizes, and directs all procurement, inventory control and planning activities for USRS. 
  • Drives rapid improvements in productivity and standardizes all applicable procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborates with vendors to ensure organizational goals are aligned.  
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, management and monitoring of annual business plans and productivity improvements. 
  • Establish strong relationships with cross-functional departments to ensure inventory goals are accomplished. 
  • Track external vendors and internal key performance to ensure goal alignment. 
  • Manage purchase orders, backorders, and expedition processes to reduce backlogs. 
  • Identify and develop action plans for slow moving items or discontinued inventory. 
  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and inventory control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement process improvement solutions. 
  • Coordinate with Accounting/Finance on matters involving carrying costs. 
  • Update lead-time and safety stock where applicable to reduce standard material runouts. 
  • Participates, reviews, and provides recommendations and oversight in forecasting and planning. 
  • Directly supervises employee in department performing inventory control, purchasing, and demand planning. 
  • Support LEAN guiding principles and LEAN manufacturing system to drive continuous improvement. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.  
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management 
  • Five (5) years progressive experience in Supply   Chain Management, Purchasing and Planning preferred 
  • Inventory control background required 
  • Familiar with a variety of Supply Chain Management   concepts, practices, and procedures 
  • Strong leadership capabilities 
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail under   time sensitive conditions
  • Self-motivated, organized and creative
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Must be able to handle ambiguity in daily activities
  • Ability to multi-task in a face-paced environment
  • Must be detailed-oriented and able to solve   inventory related issues
  • Ability to analyze problems, and execute actions in   a timely manner to meet customer requirements
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and MS Office/Window   products
  • Strong proficiency of SAP
  • Must be able to travel (10%)
