Job Summary


The Domestic Abuse Program Director is responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of comprehensive domestic abuse services in Palm Beach County. This role provides direct, trauma-informed support to survivors while also leading program development, community outreach, prevention education, and partnership engagement. The position strengthens the Jewish community’s response to domestic abuse in Palm Beach County through integrated clinical care, prevention programming, and collaboration with community stakeholders.

Essential Responsibilities

Direct Client Services & Case Management

· Serve as the primary point of contact for individuals seeking domestic abuse support, including crisis response and intake. 

· Conduct psychosocial assessments, safety planning, and risk assessments. 

· Provide trauma-informed case management, emotional support, and coordinate access to counseling, financial assistance, employment services, and other wraparound supports internally and with external community partners. 

· Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records and ensure compliance with best practice standards. 

Program Development & Coordination

· Develop, implement, and evaluate domestic abuse programming, including support groups such as Women in High Conflict Relationships, and prevention initiatives.

· Lead and coordinate Relationships and Decisions, the teen-led peer-to-peer prevention program. Activities include, but are not limited to:

o Recruit, interview and train new “teen trainers” for the Relationships and Decisions program

o Conduct monthly meetings with the teen trainers

o Identify training opportunities (“gigs”) for teens in the community, including Jewish day schools

o Expand curriculum to stay current with grant opportunities.

· Track program outcomes and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Community Outreach & Education

· Design and deliver domestic abuse awareness, prevention, and empowerment education to community audiences, including synagogues and schools. 

· Represent the agency at community events, coalitions, and domestic abuse initiatives. 

· Build and maintain partnerships with domestic abuse organizations and community providers (e.g., AVDA, Harmony House, Jewish Women’s International). 

Leadership & Collaboration

· Serve as staff liaison, representing the Palm Beach County Jewish community at local or statewide activities, committees, and/or events.

· Re-establish KOLOT, a Jewish domestic abuse outreach task force, as one unified entity for the entire county; including meeting coordination and program planning. 

· Supervise or coordinate volunteers, interns, or program participants (e.g., teen educators). 

· Participate in agency quality improvement initiatives and program evaluation. 

Qualifications

Education & Experience

· Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, or related mental health field required. 

· Minimum 3–5 years of experience working with survivors of domestic abuse or in a related field. 

Skills & Competencies

· Strong clinical assessment, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care skills.

· Strong knowledge of Jewish traditions, culture, and experience working within the Jewish community

· Program management, community outreach, and partnership development experience. 

· Excellent communication, facilitation, and public speaking abilities. 

· Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment. 

· Proficiency with electronic health records and MS Office tools. 

Working Conditions & Requirements

· Combination of office-based work, work from home, direct client interaction, and community outreach. 

· Some evening and weekend hours are required. 

· Local travel for meetings, presentations, and community engagement. 

· Ability to lift materials (up to ~20–30 lbs.) for outreach events.
