The Digital Media Specialist brings the Immanuel Christian School story to life through photography, videography, social media, and digital storytelling. This position captures and shares authentic, engaging content that reflects the mission, people, programs, and experiences that define the ICS community.
As a member of the Communications Team, the Digital Media Specialist takes an active role in the day-to-day management and growth of ICS social media while creating, managing, organizing, and publishing high-quality visual content across school platforms. Working collaboratively with the Communications Manager and Director of Strategic Communications and Community Relations, this individual helps develop social media strategy and takes ownership of implementing approved campaigns, maintaining a consistent weekly content presence, and identifying new opportunities to tell the ICS story.
The Digital Media Specialist is a full-time position and reports to the Director of Strategic Communications and Community Relations and the Communications Manager. The position requires flexibility to provide coverage of select events outside regular school hours, including evenings and weekends.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Social Media & Digital Storytelling
• Take day-to-day ownership of ICS social media channels, working within the broader communications and marketing strategy established by the Communications Team.
• Develop and maintain a consistent weekly posting schedule, ensuring ICS social media remains current, active, engaging, and reflective of the full school community.
• Collaborate with the Communications Manager and Director to propose strategic social media campaigns and take primary responsibility for implementing approved campaigns from concept through completion.
• Develop content plans and calendars for campaigns, including identifying needed photography, video, interviews, graphics, captions, timing, and platform-specific content.
• Create, schedule, and publish platform-appropriate content, including photography, Reels and short-form video, Stories, graphics, promotional content, and event coverage.
• Proactively identify stories, trends, events, student experiences, and opportunities throughout the school that should be highlighted through social media.
• Provide timely social media coverage of academics, spiritual life, athletics, fine arts, student achievements, service, special events, and other significant moments.
• Balance planned strategic content with timely, authentic content that captures the everyday life and culture of ICS.
• Develop creative content that strengthens engagement with current families while increasing awareness of ICS among prospective families, alumni, donors, and the broader community.
• Ensure social media content consistently reflects the ICS mission, brand, voice, visual identity, and standards.
• Monitor social media engagement and performance and use insights to recommend adjustments and new content opportunities.
• Stay current on social media trends, platform changes, short-form video, and emerging digital tools and recommend appropriate opportunities for ICS.
Photography & Videography
• Capture high-quality photography and video that authentically represents daily life at ICS, including academics, spiritual life, athletics, fine arts, student activities, service, field trips, retreats, TravelTerm, and community events.
• Proactively identify compelling moments, people, and stories that demonstrate the ICS mission and student experience rather than relying solely on assigned content.
• Photograph and/or film key school events, including occasional evening and weekend activities as needed.
• Coordinate and capture athletic team photographs, athletic portraits, senior callouts, and other special photography projects.
• Produce and edit short- and long-form video content for social media, marketing campaigns, admissions, athletics, development, special events, and strategic initiatives.
• Maintain and appropriately care for school-owned photography, video, audio, lighting, and related media equipment.
Digital Asset Management & Vidigami
• Serve as a primary manager of the Vidigami platform, including uploading, organizing, tagging, maintaining, and archiving school photography.
• Develop and maintain an organized digital asset library for photographs, video footage, graphics, and other media.
• Follow consistent file naming, storage, backup, and archival practices so digital assets can be easily located and utilized by the Communications Team.
• Support faculty and staff in the use of Vidigami and help promote effective use of the platform within the school community.
• Maintain awareness of student photography and media permissions when capturing, organizing, selecting, and publishing content.
• Regularly organize and archive media to maintain an accessible historical visual record of the school.
Communications, Marketing & Schoolwide Support
• Collaborate with the Communications Team and key ICS staff to support communications, marketing, enrollment, and community engagement initiatives.
• Support Admissions, Athletics, Fine Arts, Development, K–8, High School, and other departments with photography, video, social media, and digital media needs.
• Assist with website content by providing current photography, video, and other digital assets and making assigned updates to individual website pages.
• Create promotional videos and digital content for athletics, events, strategic initiatives, development, TravelTerm, admissions, and other school priorities.
• Provide Communications Team support for major school events, including Back-to-School events, Admissions Preview Events, Community Gatherings, Christmas programs, Baccalaureate, Graduation, and other schoolwide initiatives.
• Support the High School Yearbook program through photography, media skills training, short-form video, QRlinked content, and other multimedia initiatives as requested.
• Assist with event setup, content capture, promotion, and other Communications Team responsibilities when needed.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage multiple projects, deadlines, campaigns, and content requests while maintaining high standards for quality, accuracy, and professionalism.
• Attend Communications Team meetings and contribute creative ideas for storytelling, campaigns, marketing, social media, and events.
• Take ownership of assigned initiatives and follow projects through from planning and content creation to publication and completion.
• Build positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, coaches, families, and school leadership.
• Exercise good judgment when photographing and filming students and representing ICS through public-facing content.
• Demonstrate initiative by anticipating content needs, identifying opportunities, and independently moving projects forward.
• Maintain flexibility as school priorities, schedules, and communications needs evolve.
• Assist with Communications Team projects, initiatives, and events as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Communications Team and the broader mission and needs of Immanuel Christian School.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Social Media Strategy & Execution: Strong understanding of social media strategy, content planning, campaign execution, short-form video, platform trends, audience engagement, and social media analytics.
• Photography & Videography: Demonstrated skill in photography, videography, composition, lighting, audio, and visual storytelling.
• Editing & Production: Proficiency with relevant photo and video editing software and the ability to efficiently produce polished digital content.
• Content Planning: Ability to develop and maintain content calendars, manage a consistent weekly publishing schedule, and carry strategic campaigns from idea through execution.
