The Butcher Shop Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests. Responsibilities include preparing products for sales, such as cutting, grinding, seasoning, weighing, packaging, and checkout. You will be expected to be knowledgeable about the products we sell and give advice on cooking techniques.
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management and deemed necessary from time to time.
- Cut, grind, and prepare meat for sale, including in-house recipes for sausage, cured meats, and marinades.
- Ensure all products and signage attractively display accurate information.
- Clean and maintain all equipment, counters and other areas as directed.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Maintain highest quality by proper product rotation, monitor cooler temperatures, and quality inspections.
- Manage transactions with customers and ensure pricing is accurate.
- Perform opening and closing duties, including cleaning checklists and properly labeling and storing product.
Education and/or Experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Willing to learn and add to the shop with ideas for product development
- Food service experience, preferably in meat department/butcher shop
- Friendly and customer focused
- Phone skills and strong customer service skills are a must
