Responsible for preparation of monthly financial statements by generating general ledger entries based on daily casino activity. Performs review of account balances and investigates variances. Assists the Controller in the compilation of data as requested by other departments and/or management.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 


1.  Proficiency in 10-key operations.

2.  High School Diploma or equivalent required.

3.  Basic working knowledge of Excel spreadsheet software.

4.  Ability to work independently after adequate training. 

5.  Demonstrate ability to apply analytical skills to problem solving.

6.  Ability to meet deadlines imposed by the Colorado Gaming Commission or internal management.

7.  Desire to contribute to the evolving Accounting Department team effort.

8.  Demonstrate ability to “pay attention to detail.”

9.  Working knowledge of bookkeeping in a computerized accounting system environment.

10. Ability to perform account analysis as required or requested.

11. Ability to handle increasingly more complex tasks.


  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

· Review and posting of journals sent from Payables Ledger.

· Reconciliation of all cash accounts on a daily basis, with a final reconciliation

 prepared at month-end.

· Preparation of journal documentation for Controller review.

· Maintain monthly files for all general ledger accounts.

· Distribute final draft financial statements to department directors and management by the 15th of each month.

· Review each general ledger account after closing, investigate variances, and 

adjust in subsequent month.

· Analyze departmental expense trends; develop detailed management reports for 

directors. 

· Prepare and code back office bank deposits.

· Prepare daily and weekly management reports.

· Annually submit all unclaimed payroll and vendor checks to the State of 

Colorado, as required by law.

· Participate in quarterly progressive testing.

· Participate in meter reading as required.

· Any other duties as requested by the Controller.


 CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 

A valid Colorado Driver’s License. Current Colorado Gaming License required.
