FIDELITY MANUFACTURING is part of the Backup Power Generation industry. We design and build backup power packages, including tanks and enclosures, for healthcare, industrial, and technology-driven customers that require uninterrupted power at all times. Job Summary


The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing visual and dimensional inspections throughout the manufacturing process to ensure products meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. This position works closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality leadership to identify discrepancies, verify compliance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.


The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent observation skills, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality documentation. This role is essential to maintaining product quality and ensuring the successful delivery of products that meet Fidelity Manufacturing's high standards.


Essential Job Functions


Inspection & Quality Verification


Perform visual and dimensional inspections at various stages of production.

Inspect raw materials, fabricated components, assemblies, and finished products.

Verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements.

Document inspection results accurately and completely.

Identify and report quality concerns, defects, and nonconformances promptly.

Assist in determining disposition of nonconforming materials and products.

Perform final inspections prior to shipment when required.

Ensure quality standards are consistently maintained throughout manufacturing operations.


Measurement & Calibration


Utilize measuring devices and inspection equipment to verify product compliance.

Read and interpret measurements accurately using tape measures, gauges, rulers, and related inspection tools.

Perform routine measuring equipment calibration activities as assigned.

Verify the condition and accuracy of inspection equipment.

Maintain inspection records and calibration documentation.

Support continuous improvement of inspection processes and quality systems.


Documentation & Reporting


Complete inspection reports, check sheets, and quality records accurately and timely.

Maintain quality documentation according to established procedures.

Communicate inspection findings to production, engineering, and quality personnel.

Assist with tracking quality performance metrics and trends.

Support quality audits and documentation reviews as required.

Ensure records are complete, accurate, and maintained properly.


Continuous Improvement & Team Support


Support improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.

Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to resolve quality concerns.

Provide feedback regarding recurring defects and process improvement opportunities.

Support achievement of departmental and facility quality objectives.

Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.


Qualifications


Required Qualifications


High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum 1 year of quality inspection, manufacturing, production, or related experience.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Good understanding of measuring devices and inspection tools.

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to make sound decisions based on available information and data.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Background check and pre-employment drug screening required.


Highly Preferred


Experience performing quality inspections in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with fabrication, welding, assembly, or industrial production processes.

Experience using inspection equipment and quality measurement tools.

Experience supporting ISO quality systems and audit requirements.

Experience interpreting engineering drawings and customer specifications.

Experience supporting startup operations, plant expansions, or new facility launches.


Preferred


Associate degree, technical certification, or coursework related to Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering.

Experience performing equipment calibration activities.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

Experience participating in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.

Understanding of quality systems and manufacturing documentation requirements.


Working Conditions


Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and production environment. The role requires regular presence on the production floor and in inspection areas, with exposure to elevated noise levels, temperature fluctuations, dust, fumes, airborne particles, welding operations, moving machinery, and production byproducts within OSHA-permissible exposure limits.


Work areas may include concrete floors, metal platforms, ladders, and uneven walking surfaces with frequent movement around equipment, forklifts, tools, and active production operations. Required PPE must be worn in designated areas, and all company safety procedures must be followed.


Physical Requirements


Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout manufacturing and inspection areas.

Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach, and position yourself to inspect products at various stages of production.

Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move materials, tools, and inspection equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Manual dexterity required to operate measuring devices, inspection equipment, and basic hand tools.

Ability to accurately read and interpret measurements using rulers, tape measures, gauges, and inspection tools.

Ability to visually inspect materials, components, and finished products with a high degree of accuracy.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

Ability to safely work around machinery, production equipment, ladders, and forklifts while wearing required PPE.
