We design and build backup power packages, including tanks and enclosures, for healthcare, industrial, and technology-driven customers that require uninterrupted power at all times. Job Summary


The Packaging Electrician is responsible for installing electrical fixtures, apparatus, control equipment, conduit systems, wiring, and electrical accessories used in generator packages and power generation enclosures. This position works from blueprints, wiring diagrams, panel schedules, and engineering specifications to ensure installations are completed safely, accurately, and according to applicable electrical codes and standards.


The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of electrical systems, conduit installation, wire sizing, blueprint interpretation, and safe electrical work practices. Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, construction, or power generation environments is highly desirable.


Essential Job Functions


Electrical Installation


Install electrical fixtures, apparatus, panels, breakers, disconnects, and control equipment.

Install, route, terminate, and secure electrical wiring according to specifications.

Install and support various conduit systems including EMT, rigid, and flexible conduit.

Pull, label, and terminate wiring while ensuring proper routing and protection.

Install electrical accessories including battery chargers, transformers, heaters, louvers, lighting systems, and control devices.

Perform panel board and load center installation and wiring.

Support final electrical connections and package completion activities.


Blueprint Interpretation & Technical Work


Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, panel schedules, schematics, and work instructions.

Understand low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems.

Determine proper wire sizing and installation methods based on applicable codes and requirements.

Verify electrical installations meet engineering specifications and company standards.

Assist with layout, box placement, conduit routing, and equipment configuration.

Ensure electrical work complies with applicable NEC requirements and company procedures.


Testing & Troubleshooting


Perform electrical testing and verification activities.

Troubleshoot wiring, control systems, and electrical components.

Identify and correct installation issues and wiring discrepancies.

Support startup and commissioning activities as required.

Verify electrical system functionality and proper operation.

Document testing activities and quality checks as required.


Quality & Safety


Inspect completed electrical work for quality, accuracy, and code compliance.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and electrical safety procedures.

Comply with lockout/tagout procedures and established electrical safety practices.

Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, or quality issues.

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and productivity.

Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and production personnel to achieve operational goals.


Qualifications


Required Qualifications


High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum 1-2 years of experience in electrical installation, electrical construction, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or a related field.

Knowledge of low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems.

Knowledge of conduit installation methods including EMT, rigid, and flexible conduit.

Understanding of wire sizing requirements and electrical installation practices.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.

Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Background check and pre-employment drug screening required.


Highly Preferred


Industrial electrical installation experience.

Generator, switchgear, or power generation experience.

Experience wiring control panels and industrial equipment.

Experience with electrical testing and troubleshooting.

Experience supporting startup operations, plant expansions, or new facility launches.

Forklift operating experience.


Preferred


Technical school, trade school, apprenticeship, or vocational training in electrical technology.

Journeyman or apprentice electrician experience.

Knowledge of NEC requirements and electrical code compliance.

Experience with battery chargers, transformers, disconnects, motorized louvers, and generator accessories.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.


Working Conditions


Work is performed primarily in an active manufacturing and electrical installation environment where generators, enclosures, panels, and control systems are wired and assembled. Employees may be exposed to electrical equipment, conduit systems, hand and power tools, elevated noise levels, fluctuating temperatures, dust, fumes, airborne particles, and active production operations.


Work areas may include concrete floors, ladders, platforms, ramps, inclines, uneven surfaces, and confined workspaces. Some tasks may require working above shoulder height, below waist level, or inside equipment enclosures. Certain assignments may occur outdoors or between buildings depending on operational requirements.


Required PPE must be worn at all times, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear. Additional electrical safety PPE may be required based on the work being performed.


Physical Requirements


Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or maneuver tools, wire, conduit, panels, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on concrete floors and manufacturing surfaces.

Ability to climb ladders, stairs, platforms, and maintain balance while working at elevated locations.

Ability to reach, bend, crouch, kneel, stoop, twist, and work in awkward positions while performing electrical installations.

Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements associated with wire pulling, crimping, drilling, fastening, and tool operation.

Ability to safely work around electrical systems, machinery, forklifts, and moving equipment.

Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, measurements, labels, and electrical documentation.

Ability to distinguish wire colors and identify electrical components accurately.
