Nexus Family Healing is hiring a Vice President of Clinical Services!


Position Summary:   

The Vice President of Clinical Services provides high-level strategic leadership and clinical expertise to Nexus agencies. This role develops and executes clinical strategies that advance organizational goals, strengthen treatment outcomes, and ensure clinical excellence. The Vice President of Clinical Services maintains deep knowledge of each agency's clinical programs, treatment models, outcome measures, and service delivery, ensuring alignment with Nexus's clinical standards and strategic priorities. 


By providing leadership and guidance to agency clinical leaders, the Vice President of Clinical Services promotes the consistent implementation of best practices and evidence-informed, trauma-responsive approaches, advancing high-quality clinical services across Nexus.


Primary responsibilities:


Clinical Strategy & Leadership

  • Develops and implements the organization's clinical vision, treatment philosophy, and strategic priorities across Nexus agencies
  • Provides leadership regarding clinical practice, treatment effectiveness, service quality, and emerging industry trends
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to ensure organizational strategies support both mission achievement and long-term sustainability
  • Leads organization-wide clinical initiatives designed to strengthen outcomes, improve effectiveness, and enhance service delivery
  • Establishes organizational standards for clinical practice, treatment protocols, service delivery, documentation, and supervision
  • Represents Nexus as a clinical leader with external partners, professional organizations, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders

Clinical Excellence, Outcomes, & Performance

  • Develops systems to evaluate and improve clinical outcomes for Nexus agencies
  • Reviews trends related to client outcomes, service quality, safety, and treatment effectiveness and develops strategies to address identified opportunities
  • Ensures implementation and fidelity of evidence-informed, trauma-responsive, and culturally responsive treatment practices
  • Champions continuous quality improvement efforts designed to strengthen client and family outcomes
  • Provides oversight of clinically related quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Ensures organizational practices remain focused on achieving measurable and meaningful outcomes

Clinical Leadership Development & Workforce Excellence

  • Provides leadership, consultation, mentorship, and development to agency clinical leaders
  • Establishes organizational expectations related to clinical supervision, leadership development, and professional practice
  • Promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing among clinical leaders throughout the organization
  • Supports recruitment, retention, and development strategies designed to attract and retain highly qualified clinical professionals
  • Fosters a culture of accountability, innovation, professional growth, and excellence

Clinical Risk Management, Compliance, & Accreditation

  • Provides oversight of clinical risk management activities for Nexus agencies
  • Ensures compliance with applicable licensing regulations, accreditation standards, professional practice requirements, and clinical policies
  • Collaborates with agency leadership to proactively identify, mitigate, and manage clinical and treatment-related risks
  • Guides organizational response to significant clinical events, treatment concerns, and regulatory matters
  • Oversees development and maintenance of clinical policies, practice standards, and treatment protocols
  • Ensures organizational readiness for licensing reviews, accreditation activities, audits, and regulatory inspections.

Service Development, Growth, & Innovation

  • Evaluates emerging treatment models, clinical innovations, and industry best practices for organizational application
  • Partners with operational leadership in the development, expansion, acquisition, affiliation, and implementation of new programs and services
  • Identifies opportunities to enhance service effectiveness, increase access to care, and improve client outcomes
  • Supports grant development, program innovation, and strategic initiatives requiring clinical expertise.

Dyad Partnership & Organizational Integration

  • Functions in a strategic dyad partnership with the Vice President of Operations to ensure alignment between clinical excellence and operational performance
  • Collaborates with Executive Directors and clinical leaders to support achievement of organizational goals, quality outcomes, workforce stability, and service effectiveness
  • Partners with Home Office departments to ensure successful implementation of enterprise initiatives
  • Provides clinical guidance regarding operational decisions that may impact treatment delivery, service quality, or client outcomes
  • Supports organizational strategic planning, performance management, and leadership development activities
  • Assumes leadership assignments and organizational responsibilities as designated


Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, or another related clinical field
  • State-specific, independent clinical licensure required (LICSW, LPCC, LMFT, LP, or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible clinical leadership experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of supervisory and management experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple programs, agencies, service lines, or regions within behavioral health, human services, health care, or child welfare settings
  • Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Nexus Home Office driving requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Executive leadership experience in a multi-site behavioral health, child welfare, health care, or human services organization
  • Experience overseeing residential treatment, foster care, community-based mental health, and related service lines
  • Board-approved supervisor status or advanced clinical certifications 
  • Experience leading organizational growth, service expansion, affiliation, or merger activities

Travel:

Travel up to 50 percent of the time required via air and ground transportation.
