Impact Summary

The Senior Systems Engineer provides senior-level systems engineering support for U.S. military aircraft platforms, with emphasis on development, integration, test, verification, and sustainment of aircraft hardware and related systems. This role translates customer and program requirements into executable technical requirements, supports sound engineering decisions, and works closely with program management, Government program offices, subcontractors, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure technical accuracy, system performance, airworthiness alignment, cybersecurity awareness, and compliance with Navy program expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Government stakeholders to ensure compliance with military standards, airworthiness requirements, cybersecurity directives, and program goals.
  • Lead systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle, including requirements management, test planning, verification/validation and production readiness.
  • Define, analyze, and manage system-level requirements for aircraft subsystems.
  • Develop system architectures, interface control documents and technical baseline definitions.
  • Oversee system qualification including laboratory testing, ground testing, and flight test support.
  • Conduct trade studies, risk assessments, and technical evaluations to support decision-making. 
  • Support configuration management throughout development and sustainment phases.
  • Develop presentations and represent the engineering team in technical reviews.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of recent systems engineering experience supporting military aircraft, aerospace systems, or other complex technical systems.
  • Experience leading or supporting systems engineering activities across requirements management, architecture development, integration, verification, validation, and sustainment.
  • Ability to develop, manage, and maintain system-level requirements, requirements traceability, interface documentation, and technical baseline materials.
  • Experience supporting test planning, system qualification, laboratory testing, ground testing, flight test activities, data review, and deficiency resolution.
  • Working knowledge of military standards, airworthiness requirements, cybersecurity considerations, and configuration management practices applicable to aircraft systems.
  • Ability to conduct trade studies, risk assessments, technical evaluations, and alternatives analyses to support engineering and program decisions.
  • Strong technical writing, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to brief technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with Government program offices, subcontractors, program management, and cross-functional engineering teams; NAVAIR or Navy PMA experience preferred.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Security clearance.

Salary Description
$93k - $135k per year
