Description

Lalor Family Dental is a growing, multi-office dental practice in the Greater Binghamton area bringing over 60 years of experience in the dental field. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our finance team full-time. 


This position offers exposure to a wide range of accounting responsibilities, giving you the foundation and visibility needed to progress into a future Accounting Lead role. We’re committed to developing our people—and this role is designed for someone who wants to grow with us.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing month-end and year-end closing procedures entering financial data and transactions into the general ledgers of multiple entities that make up the Lalor Family of companies
  • Providing final review and approval of company credit card charges ensuring proper documentation and coding to the general ledger of multiple entities
  • Reviewing financial documents for accuracy and reconciling accounts
  • Reconciling inter-company liabilities
  • Maintaining fixed asset records and recording monthly depreciation and amortization
  • Compiling multiple consolidating financial statements
  • Analyzing financial results, investigating budget variances, material changes, discrepancies and unusual activity 
  • Assisting in preparing annual budgets
  • Assisting in maintaining and updating financial forecasts and cash flow projections 
  • Collaborating with other departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support
  • Assisting in the preparing of annual tax documents and supporting schedules 
  • Cross training in bookkeeping functions to provide support and coverage as needed
  • Supporting the Controller and other financial professionals in their duties as needed

  • Written and verbal communication skills to share accounting information when needed
  • Ability to work on a team and independently
  • Proficient with Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel and most Microsoft products

Education: 

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA or equivalent preferred

Experience: 

  • 2 or more years of general ledger accounting
  • Payroll experience a plus

Annual Salary:  $50,000 - $70,000 -- depending on experience and education
