Position Summary:

The Human Resource Director serves as an advisor and strategic partner to the owner and/or senior leadership in the area of team member compensation as he/she serves to enhance the lives of the people who work at Treeline. The Human Resource Director is responsible for overseeing the timely and accurate compensation of Treeline team members and shall seek improved processes and systems on an ongoing basis. Daily duties include administering employee benefit programs, managing payroll, facilitate recruiting, hiring, onboarding of new team members and lead the shared leadership/engagement efforts for all Treeliners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain personal safety and watch out for the safety of others.
  • Comply with all OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Communicate with team members and customers positively and collaboratively. 
  • Communicate professionally, clearly, concisely, and tactfully with all individuals in person, on the telephone, and via letter or email.
  • Consistently maintain a positive and problem-solving attitude.  
  • Understand and adhere to Treeline’s employment handbook.
  • Effectively employ work organization techniques to ensure a highly detail-oriented workflow.
  • Perform responsibilities with a high degree of dependability and professionalism.
  • Manage the timely payroll to all Treeline team members.
  • Administer Treeline’s benefitsm enrollments and leave programs (to inclued Maine Paid Family Leave) and other HR Benefits
  • Advocate for team member’s benefit usage and assist them with the various programs.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all benefit programs including but not limited to health coverage, retirement, employee assistance program, and life insurance.
  • Assist Supervisors with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new Treeline team members.
  • Assist Leadership Team to improve and update Treeline’s employment policies and handbook. 
  • Assist Supervisors and Leadership with team member inquiries and concerns, providing guidance on policies and procedures.
  • Assist Supervisors with addressing employee issues to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Assist and support Risk Management team with demographic information and Workers Comp Claim information requests.
  • Build strong working relationships with Supervisors and team members.
  • Support Supervisors and team members in the standard review process.
  • Process all related paperwork accurately, including benefits applications, leave requests, employee status or contact changes, and other state and federal compliance related documents.
  • Manage the beginning-to-end recruitment process including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and selection.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities and ensure new hires are successfully integrated into the organization.
  • Work with the leadership team to ensure compliance with state and federal compensation, labor, and employment laws, regulations, and policies.  
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and track training programs and professional development initiatives for all team members.
  • Use word processing software to effectively update general paperwork, maintain files, and perform word processing applications (Software examples: Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat)
  • Lead Shared Leadership/Engagement efforts via Best Places to Work in Maine survey and subsequent analysis/huddle/action planning process
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure legal compliance
  • Identify skill gaps and recommend learning opportunities
  • Use HR analytics to track trends in turnover, engagement, and attendance issues



Requirements:

  • Teachable, motivated attitude
  • Preferred - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources management, business admin, or related field
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • SHRM-CP or SCP certification desired

Experience and Skills:

  • Demonstrate proficiency with the following software:
  • QuickBooks
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
  • Gmail or Microsoft Outlook
  • Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook Calendar

Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed while standing, sitting and or walking.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights, up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.  
  • Work may require occasional evening or weekend work. 
  • Schedule: 
  • Monday - Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Once trained and oriented, schedule flexibility may be available as mutually agreed upon.  
Salary Description
$70,000 - $95,000 DOE
