Industrial Painter

Location: Pleasanton, TX

Work Schedule: Friday – Sunday 

Hours: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Shift: 12-hour shift 


The Industrial Painter is responsible for applying high-quality industrial coatings to generator enclosures, fuel tanks, structural frames, and fabricated steel components using approved painting processes and equipment. This position ensures products meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, and company quality standards while maintaining safe work practices and supporting production schedules.

The Industrial Painter is expected to produce durable, aesthetically pleasing finishes through proper paint application techniques, equipment maintenance, and adherence to coating specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply primers, base coats, topcoats, and specialty coatings to fabricated steel products using approved painting techniques. 
  • Operate air-assisted airless, conventional, HVLP, and electrostatic spray equipment as required. 
  • Apply coatings to generator enclosures, diesel fuel tanks, structural skids, base frames, access platforms, and other fabricated components. 
  • Ensure proper paint coverage, film thickness, gloss, texture, and finish quality. 
  • Follow paint manufacturer specifications for application, flash times, cure times, and environmental conditions. 
  • Mix paints, catalysts, reducers, and hardeners according to manufacturer specifications. 
  • Measure paint viscosity and verify proper spray settings. 
  • Perform color verification and batch documentation when required.
  • Maintain consistent spray patterns and overlap to achieve a uniform finish.

Equipment Operation

  • Safely operate and maintain:
  • Air-assisted airless spray systems 
  • Conventional spray guns 
  • HVLP spray equipment 
  • Paint mixing equipment 
  • Pressure pots 
  • Air compressors 
  • Drying and curing equipment 
  • Paint booth ventilation systems 
  • Material handling equipment as required 
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of painting equipment.
  • Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Ensure all contaminants are removed prior to paint application. 
  • Identify dents, scratches, weld defects, contamination, or damage requiring correction. 
  • Notify supervision of non-conforming conditions.
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the preparation process to prevent paint defects.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous manufacturing, body shop, industrial painting, or surface preparation experience preferred. 
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely. 
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. 
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, or balance.
  • Exposure to warehouse and outdoor loading dock environments.
  • Frequently required to stand, bend, and lift materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience painting a variety of surface types.
  • Proficiency with technical machinery.
  • Physical strength to operate machinery.
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of painting tools.
  • Diligence and attention to detail.
  • Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good verbal communication.
