- Support vendor interactions, equipment evaluations, and equipment development
- Travel occasionally when required to support vendors, equipment, or other business needs
You Could Be a Great Fit!
We’re looking for an engineer who is technically strong but also comfortable getting out from behind a desk and working directly with manufacturing. You could be a strong fit if you have:
- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, IT, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in metals, powder metals, or a similar manufacturing environment
- Experience developing, documenting, or improving manufacturing processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience working with CAD, including SolidWorks
- CNC programming experience using MasterCam, SolidCam, or similar tools
- Experience supporting multi-axis milling and turning applications
- The ability to interpret manufacturing problems, identify potential causes, and develop practical solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Operations, Quality, and other technical teams
- A willingness to spend time on the manufacturing floor understanding how processes actually perform
Additional Tools in Your Toolbox
These aren’t necessarily required, but they can help you hit the ground running:

What Success Looks Like
Successful Process Engineers at Elmet make manufacturing easier to understand, control, and improve.
You’ll know you’re succeeding when:
- Manufacturing documentation accurately reflects what happens on the production floor
- BOMs, routings, OPCs, and work instructions are accurate and usable
- Operators have clear processes they can consistently follow
- Production problems are investigated and resolved rather than repeatedly worked around
- Process capability and yields improve
- Quality issues and nonconforming material are addressed systematically
- Corrective actions solve underlying problems
- New equipment and processes transition successfully into production
- Cost and quality requirements are considered when process changes are made
- Operations and Quality see Engineering as a practical partner in solving problems
- Customer technical questions receive clear, informed support
Engineering That Happens on the Manufacturing Floor
This isn’t a role where process engineering happens entirely behind a computer.
When something isn’t working as expected, you’ll go to the process, talk with the people operating it, review the data, and help determine what needs to change. That could mean adjusting a manufacturing method, investigating a quality problem, improving tooling, revising an instruction, evaluating new equipment, or determining why actual production results don’t match expectations.
The goal is straightforward: understand the process well enough to make it better.
Work With Advanced Materials
Elmet specializes in high-performance metals, including tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum, and niobium. These materials create manufacturing challenges you won’t find in every engineering environment. You’ll have the opportunity to deepen your experience in advanced materials processing while building expertise across manufacturing engineering, machining, process control, quality, equipment, and continuous improvement.
Build Products That Perform Where It Matters
Elmet Technologies is a U.S.-based manufacturer of precision-engineered products serving demanding global industries including aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and energy.
At our Euclid facility, Process Engineering connects product requirements with what happens on the manufacturing floor.
Your work will help determine how products are made, how processes perform, how problems are solved, and how manufacturing improves over time.
Ready to Make the Process Better?
If you’re an engineer who enjoys solving real manufacturing problems, working directly with production teams, and seeing the results of your work on the shop floor, we’d like to hear from you.
