Providence at Home is a growing division of Providence Life Services, which provides a continuum of healthcare, focused on senior living. Providence at Home is seeking a Billing Specialist, Full Time in Homer Glen, IL. The Billing Specialist for Providence at Home oversees the entire billing process for all service lines including home health, hospice and palliative. We are looking for someone who is highly organized, can manage and adhere to multiple priorities and deadlines and who is able to pivot and be flexible with job responsibilities throughout the workday. In addition, this person will provide positive customer service, show responsiveness and timeliness to duties and communicate effectively with internal and external stake holders. This position is more than an office job; you will be working with an amazing team who works towards a goal together and assists each other. 


Schedule and Pay Range: The position is onsite at our Homer Glen office and is full time, hourly/non-exempt, Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM (unpaid lunch break) and the hourly pay range is $30.00 to $35.00/hour (offer will take into consideration experience and education).

Summary of essential job functions:

  • Review, research and respond on a timely basis to our billing company on the reports or assistance they need to correct and submit invoices for Home Health, Hospice, and Palliative.
  • Assists in resolving Claim Errors and Validation Holds in MatrixCare for home health, hospice, and palliative.
  • Adds payors primary and secondary to MatrixCare and complete payment configuration form as needed for home health, hospice and palliative.
  • Assists with self-pay invoices to Patients and Follow-up collections for self-pay invoices as needed.
  • Enters charges, processes billing and applies payments for Private Duty Clients.
  • Recording and updating the authorization spreadsheet for Home Health, Hospice and Palliative.
  • Processing information needed for the Auditors on an annual or as needed basis.
  • Assists in processing Medical Records requests from Lawyers offices, Insurance companies and etc.
  • Assists, as needed, with Notice of Election (NOE) for Hospice and Notice of Admissions (NOAs) for Home Health. 
  • Assists, as needed, with adding Physicians, Organizations and employees to MatrixCare.
  • Assists in reviewing and researching Billing Task Hot List in MatrixCare for Home Health, Hospice and Palliative.
  • Assists with, as needed, insurance verifications and authorizations for Home Health, Hospice and Palliative.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED or higher.
  • Intake experience in a health care setting, home health and/or hospice.
  • Work onsite in an office setting (this is not remote).
  • Have experience with EMRs and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Show attention to detail, be highly organized and be responsive and timely with completing tasks.
  • Must pass a physical, drug screen, 50-pound lift test, fingerprinting for criminal background check and complete a reference check.
