Shipping & Receiving Clerk
BR Printers is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our Kentucky Airport (KYA) team. This position is responsible for supporting daily shipping and receiving operations, maintaining accurate documentation, processing incoming and outgoing shipments, and ensuring materials are properly handled and accounted for.
The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Previous shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience is preferred but not required.
What You’ll Do
- Receive, unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Compare received materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation.
- Accurately enter receiving information and shipment details into applicable computer systems.
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including packing slips, shipping labels, and other required documentation.
- Verify product quantities, shipping addresses, and order information before shipment.
- Coordinate shipments using approved carriers, including UPS, FedEx, USPS, and freight providers.
- Use RF scanning equipment to track, locate, and process inventory.
- Label, organize, stage, and store incoming materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Assist with picking, packing, and preparing customer orders for shipment.
- Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
- Identify and report damaged products, missing materials, shipping errors, or inventory discrepancies.
- Communicate shipment delays, shortages, and receiving concerns to the appropriate team members.
- Safely operate pallet jacks and other authorized material-handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving area.
- Follow all BR Printers safety procedures, warehouse requirements, and company policies.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Inventory, Fulfillment, and Warehouse teams to meet daily operational needs.
- Assist with additional shipping, receiving, and warehouse responsibilities as needed.
Who You Are
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, fulfillment, or distribution experience preferred but not required.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to accurately enter and maintain information.
- Ability and willingness to learn shipping software, inventory systems, and RF scanning equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Basic math skills and the ability to verify quantities and shipping information.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new processes and assist in other warehouse areas as needed.
Extra Skills That Set You Apart
- Previous shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Experience using UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or similar shipping software.
- Familiarity with bills of lading, packing slips, purchase orders, and freight documentation.
- Experience using RF scanners or handheld inventory equipment.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
- Forklift certification or previous forklift experience.
- Experience with LTL freight shipments and carrier coordination.
- Previous experience performing inventory counts or resolving inventory discrepancies.
- Experience in commercial printing, manufacturing, or distribution.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, twist, stoop, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds, as required.
- Ability to safely move and organize products throughout the warehouse.
- Ability to operate authorized material-handling equipment after appropriate training.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse and manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and typical warehouse noise.
Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation: Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift | Overtime may be required based on shipping, production, and operational needs.
