Description

  

Summary:

The Athletic Director – Middle School works in partnership with the Head of Athletics to organize, administer, and support the overall interscholastic athletics program at Duchesne Academy. This role shares responsibility for the strategic direction, coordination, and evaluation of the athletics program, including training and supporting coaches; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing concerns and resolving issues; and overseeing all home and post-season contests. The incumbent also carries supervisory responsibilities and, when not coaching, serves as the on-duty administrator at home athletic contests, either independently or in coordination with the Head of Athletics. After-school administrative coverage may range from zero up to 18 hours per week, excluding post-season competitions and travel.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist each head coach in compiling and preparing seasonal sport schedules and supplying them to the appropriate officials’ boards
  • Assist with the supervision of all home contests
  • Assist with the coordination, supervision, and travel for post-season competition
  • Notify opponents’ athletic departments, support supervisors, campus police, social media, appropriate coaches, and officials of postponements and reschedules using established protocol
  • Assist the Athletic Director in the scheduling of practice times and facilities on and off site as well as development of the daily bus and security schedule
  • Managing and updating the Athletics website including team rosters, coaching rosters, and the competition calendar
  • Assist with home game logistics including coordination with facilities staff, and payment of officials
  • Coordinate with the Athletic Director the purchasing, inventorying, storage, and maintenance of all athletic equipment, uniforms and materials
  • Assist with and participate in the Athletics Banquet
  • Attend annual conferences for professional development
  • Coach two seasons
Requirements

  

Minimum Education/Prior Experience/Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in athletic coaching
  • A general knowledge of all sports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience managing a budget
  • Supervisory or school administrator experience preferred
  • Head coaching experience preferred

Upon Hiring

  • Successful completion of criminal offenders’ records information and sexual offender registry checks.
  • Successful completion of CMG Safe Environment Training.
  • Current CPR certification.
