Description


UDC is seeking a Senior QA Tester to join our growing team! The Senior QA Tester supports the planning, design and execution of system testing on simple to complex implementations.


What you will do

  • Review user requirement documents to ensure that requirements are testable
  • Prepare data sets to test logic, effort handling, and system workflows
  • Develop test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test reports to ensure that software functions as expected
  • Perform testing on various software, utility systems and reporting systems
  • Isolate, reproduce, and document system defects
  • Verify fixes
  • Document test execution and results according to required procedures
  • Track testing progress and results against numerous working scenarios for a single testable requirement
  • Work with development team to determine the most effective testing and inspection strategy for projects of varying complexity and size
  • Track and manage test environment configurations for accurate and effective testing results
  • Take ownership of the overall testing strategy and approach for assigned projects/workstreams.
  • Coordinate testing across the applicable testing phases.
  • Define and track test readiness/entry and exit criteria, leading defect triage, applying risk based testing, and providing testing status, metrics, risks and issues to the project team and client stakeholders.



What we look for from you

  • Familiarity with software development life cycle and quality assurance methodologies
  • Experience with GIS software tools and applications, both desktop and web enabled
  • Electric and/or gas utility experience
  • Working knowledge of Waterfall and Agile/Scrum software methodologies
  • Familiarity with all aspects of Quality Assurance testing of software, including Unit, System and Regression testing
  • Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive
  • Ability to work independently and with others, strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to consistently stage testing data for workflow test scenarios accurately and thoroughly while keeping track of the testing environments
  • Extremely organized with strong time-management skills
  • Experience with large-scale Systems Integrations projects preferred


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with a major in GIS, Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field; or 5-8 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance Analyst or Tester role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Writing requirements specifications, use cases, user stories and test plans, testing criteria, including data type validation, pass/fail conditions, boundary conditions, as well as experience designing, developing and testing processes for data.


Compensation range: 

$77,000-$115,000/annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
