We’re Journal Communications, Inc., a media company based in Franklin, Tenn., and we are seeking a full-time Photo Assistant to manage multimedia for our digital brands. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply; we have an established training system for our creative team.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
- Become the main point of contact for asset requests for Livability.com and our other websites.
- Source, traffic and quality check visual assets, including photography, video, illustration and graphics.
- Support staff and freelance photographers through press credentials requests, photo subject outreach, image transfer, etc.
- Catalog assets within global Digital Asset Management system in an accurate, consistent and timely manner: Metadata, history usage, DAM cleanup
- Uphold asset usage, storage and organization guidelines.
- Crop, size and prepare assets for various media channels, including direct population into WordPress
- Help creative team plan and schedule photo shoots
- Build photo/video shot lists
- Color correction/image editing experience is a plus!
- Video editing experience is a big plus!
We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong visual eye with the ability to quickly evaluate quality imagery
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, WordPress and the iOS platform
- Extremely well organized with good problem-solving skills
- Positive and proactive attitude and passion for the job
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively as needed
- Proven ability to work quickly and effectively with very strong attention to detail
- Understanding of file formats, metadata standards, and best asset organization practices
- Solid understanding of digital web production and emerging AI tools
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
This position is based in the Franklin/Nashville, TN, area and will follow a hybrid schedule.
