Service Desk Operations Manager
Description

Spatial Front provides IT solutions to federal, state, and local governments, and the private sector. We provide delivery oversight and business development for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

On-Site NOAA Building College Park, MD


Responsibilities

  • Oversee day to day operation of the Linux and Windows workstations service desk.
  • Oversee and Perform quarterly baseline and ad-hoc security updates on all operating systems
  • Oversee and Patch operating systems and third party software via automated tools 
  • Create Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly Status reports.  
  • Assigns and tracks tasks for the team
  • Works with Federal leads to Track and follow through on assignments
  • Works with Program manager to meet all requirements in the PWS. 
  • Select, install, configure, and administer hardware and software systems over a LAN/WAN architecture;
  • Install and maintain system upgrades, operating and security patches, and peripheral devices;
  • Performs moderately complex systems and database administration. Monitors and tunes appropriate systems to ensure optimum level of performance;
  • Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems related to workstations
  • Recommend and schedule repairs or replacement of equipment;
  • Oversees appropriate level software installations and upgrades and related software packages;
  • Install, configure, and manage the equipment and software necessary to perform system backups and recovery of applications and data;
  • Maintain system and data files, and monitor system integrity;
  • Develops and maintains appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current. Oversees the maintenance of a library of the system-supporting process and procedure documentation;
  • Interacts with client management to answer questions, problems, and requests regarding complex system issues;
  • Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. 
Requirements
  • Candidates must be able to pass a US Public Trust background check for badging and to access client systems. 
  • Excellent communication skills able to translate technical information into plain language. 
  • MS Office and Google Docs skills
  • Must be able to physically lift and carry property weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.

  • Linux system management with Satellite Server
  • Windows System management AD/SCCM
  • BigFix Experience

  • In order to meet the clearance requirements for this opportunity, candidates must be US Citizen and/or Current Green Card Holder.

  • Public Trust background investigations can take approximately four to eight weeks and requires fingerprinting.

  • The salary for this position is $85,000 - $100,000 annually
