Electrical Engineering Technologist
Description

Job Summary: The Electrical Engineering Technologist develops, integrates, and validates electrical systems for Qnergy. This role focuses on controls, motor applications, and system testing. This position supports products from early development through production release. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop electrical controls for power generation and industrial equipment.
  • Select and Configure VFDs for motors, pumps, compressors, and fans.
  • Develop industrial power inverter packages and related controls.
  • Create schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and bills of materials.
  • Build prototypes and test electrical hardware.
  • Perform verification and validation testing.
  • Analyze results and recommend design improvements.
  • Troubleshoot development, production, and field issues.
  • Support PLC, microcontroller, and embedded hardware applications.
  • Assist with system integration and commissioning.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate design files, test records, and technical documentation.
  • Follow applicable electrical and safety standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology required. 
  • Five to eight years of related experience required. 
  • Industrial equipment or power systems experience required. 
  • Manufacturing and product-development experience required. 
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting experience preferred. 
  • System commissioning or robotics integration experience preferred. 
  • Familiarity with UL, NFPA, NEC, or CSA standards preferred. 
  • Power generation or industrial manufacturing experience preferred. 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong Knowledge of DC and AC circuit analysis.
  • Strong foundation in electrical and electronic theory. 
  • Knowledge of analog, digital, and power electronics. 
  • Experience with industrial automation and controls. 
  • Experience with motors, VFDs, and related equipment. 
  • Knowledge of industrial power inverters. 
  • Experience with electrical testing and product validation. 
  • Experience using oscilloscopes and signal generators. 
  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics.
  • Strong hardware troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills. 
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across departments. 

Work Environment:

  • Work occurs in an office, laboratory, and manufacturing setting.
  • Work may occur near energized or operating equipment.
  • Personal protective equipment may be required. 
  • May be required to lift to 50 pounds. 
  • Occasional travel may support testing or commissioning.
Salary Description
$85,000 - $105,000
