Job Purpose:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing operations. The primary focus of this role is to perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and uptime of machinery, equipment, and facility systems. This role will work closely with the maintenance team to uphold safety, productivity, and equipment reliability standards. Work hours are Monday – Thursday, 6:00am-3:30pm, Friday, 6:00am-10:00am, with overtime required and occasional Saturday.  


Job Duties:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on production machinery, mechanical systems, tools, and support equipment (forklift, scissor lift, welding) as scheduled
  • Identifying and resolve potential mechanical and electrical issues before breakdowns occur
  • Document maintenance activities, inspections, and findings using maintenance logs or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Conduct regular inspections of belts, motors, lubrication systems, and filters to ensure compliance with maintenance schedules
  • Monitor machine performance and report irregularities, unusual noises, leaks, or vibrations
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust machinery parts using appropriate tools and materials
  • Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance supplies and spare parts
  • Help manage hazardous material storage and disposal. Participate in annual training on proper handling of waste and hazardous materials. 
  • Follow all company safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE), and hazard communication standards
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency
  • Respond to maintenance requests and assist in emergency repairs as needed
  • Assist in plant operations, including opening and closing BETA buildings, when needed and perform other duties as assigned



Requirements

Education and Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance is a plus
  • 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance role preferred
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Use of hand and power tools, ladders, and safety equipment
  • Familiar with preventive maintenance practices
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), CMMS experience helpful
  • Able to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Able to work flexible hours or shifts including weekends or overtime when required
  • Must have valid driver’s license and transportation to make purchases and pick up supplies on behalf of BETA
  • Familiar with industrial safety environment and use of common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, welding helmet, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirators, and hard hats (BETA will provide or reimburse)
  • Able to work in non-temperature-controlled environment with high noise levels and with hazardous materials and equipment
  • Physical Requirements – Able to use hands to handle, control or feel objects and tools, regular standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 75 pounds independently throughout the shift
