Job Title: Warehouse Operator I
Position Summary:
The Warehouse Operator I is an entry-level warehouse position responsible for accurately and efficiently performing assigned warehouse duties. Employees in this position will typically be trained in one primary warehouse function, such as picking or packing, while assisting with other basic warehouse duties as needed. This position is expected to follow established procedures, meet productivity and accuracy expectations, and use the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for assigned tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform assigned primary warehouse function, including picking or packing customer and internal orders.
• Accurately locate, select, verify, and handle products according to order and WMS information.
• Pack products according to company standards and prepare completed orders for the next stage of fulfillment.
• Use handheld scanners, computers, printers, pallet jacks, and other assigned warehouse equipment safely.
• Assist with basic replenishment, labeling, product movement, stocking, cleaning, and organization as directed.
• Report damaged product, inventory discrepancies, incorrect locations, or system errors to a supervisor.
• Meet established productivity, quality, and accuracy expectations for assigned work.
• Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors and assist with other basic warehouse duties as assigned.
• Assist with cycle counts, inventory verification, and routine inventory research.
Warehouse Management System (WMS) Responsibilities:
• Log into and navigate assigned WMS functions.
• Scan products, warehouse locations, cartons, and orders as required.
• Complete basic picking or packing transactions and confirm quantities accurately.
• Follow system-directed work assignments and properly complete or close assigned tasks.
• Identify and report WMS errors or inventory discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- Ability to learn basic warehouse processes, handheld scanners, and the WMS.
- Ability to work independently after training and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Forklift experience preferred or ability to become trained/certified if required for assigned duties.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to operate and use a pallet jack/electric pallet jack.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time throughout the day.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
- Must be comfortable operating warehouse equipment
Work Environment:
This position works in a warehouse setting and may be exposed to varying temperatures, moving equipment, and moderate noise levels.
