SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Fulfill the overall ministry of Grace Adventures and implement the mission of summer camps. To provide the physical, emotional, and spiritual care for campers assigned to you.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a vital personal growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Create a bunkhouse environment that is physically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially safe for all campers under your care
  • Supervise campers effectively. Be responsible for the conduct of your campers and conduct behavior management based on training 
  • Lead bunkhouse bible studies
  • Have an intentional one-on-one conversation with each camper under your care each week
  • Teach horse riding classes and trail rides under the Paradise Ranch (CHA-based) curriculum.
  • Assist in other Ranch-related program activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor(s)

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete the course of study during orientation and follow all camp policies
  • Become familiar with the camp staff, facilities, and grounds
  • Keep spiritually and physically prepared to minister
  • Care for the well-being of the campers ahead of your own personal desires
  • Attend all ranch camp activities, meals, and staff meetings. 
  • Fill out all paperwork and turn it in before you are dismissed at the end of the week
  • Support Community Worship as assigned
  • Assist with housekeeping: cleaning showers, bunkhouses, bathrooms, and buildings to meet standards of excellence
  • Implement all riding instructor and group trail riding duties

POSITION TYPE: Seasonal

HOUSING: Provided throughout contract dates

MEALS: Provided throughout contract dates whenever campers or guests are being served

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have a personal growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Knowledge of and love for God’s Word
  • Love for kids and adults and ability to communicate with them
  • Good health and stamina as required to implement a summer camp program. This will involve long hours, sleeping in bunkhouses with campers and lifting at times. Ability to work in various weather climates and conditions.
  • Experience in teaching kids
  • Willingness to participate in camp activities
  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • Education required: High School Degree or equivalent
  • Must be familiar with and adhere to CHA standards for group riding programs.
  • Must demonstrate ability to teach his or her assigned Paradise Ranch riding level(s).
  • Should be an experienced rider (equivalent to CHA level 3).
  • Must be able to handle both kids and horses in a safe, fun, and educational way.
