Job Title: Warehouse Specialist

Position Summary:
The Warehouse Specialist is the highest-level non-management warehouse position and is responsible for performing and supporting a broad range of warehouse operations. Employees in this position are expected to be fully or substantially cross-trained throughout the warehouse and possess advanced knowledge of warehouse procedures and the Warehouse Management System (WMS). The Warehouse Specialist serves as a highly skilled resource who can be assigned wherever operational support is most needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently perform a majority or all major warehouse functions, including picking, packing, receiving, shipping, replenishment, inventory movement, transfers, order staging, labeling, cycle counting, and inventory verification.

• Move between warehouse functions as needed to support daily operational priorities and maintain workflow.

• Investigate inventory discrepancies, incorrect locations, shortages, overages, damaged product, and transaction errors.

• Assist management with resolving inventory, order, workflow, and warehouse process issues.

• Complete product, location, inventory, and order research and assist with authorized inventory adjustments, cycle counts, and reconciliation.

• Assist employees with WMS, scanner, inventory, and workflow questions and help keep work moving when issues occur.

• Provide hands-on training and guidance to Warehouse Operator I and Warehouse Operator II employees.

• Identify recurring operational issues, communicate recommended improvements, and maintain high productivity, accuracy, safety, and professional standards.

Warehouse Management System (WMS) Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate advanced proficiency across WMS functions used in warehouse operations.

• Research orders, inventory, products, locations, transaction history, and inventory availability.

• Complete and review receiving, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, transfer, and location movement transactions.

• Research mismatches between physical inventory and WMS inventory and assist with authorized corrections or reconciliation.

• Identify incomplete or incorrect transactions, troubleshoot routine system/workflow issues, and escalate issues when appropriate.

• Assist employees with scanner and WMS processes.

• Support WMS process changes, testing, training, and implementation.



Requirements

Qualifications:

  •  Extensive warehouse experience or demonstrated progression through warehouse positions.
  •  Proficiency in a majority or all major warehouse functions.
  •  Advanced working knowledge of the WMS and strong understanding of inventory movement and warehouse workflow.
  •  Ability to research and troubleshoot warehouse, order, and inventory discrepancies with limited supervision.
  •  Ability to quickly move between responsibilities based on operational needs.
  •  Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, communication, reliability, and ability to train or support other employees.
  •  Forklift and warehouse equipment experience required; preferred certification or ability to maintain company-required certification.

Physical Requirements:

  •  Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds regularly.
  •  Must be able to operate and use a pallet jack/electric pallet jack.
  •  Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time throughout the day.
  •  Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
  •  Must be comfortable operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts, when trained and authorized.

Work Environment:

This position works in a warehouse setting and may be exposed to varying temperatures, moving equipment, and moderate noise levels.

Salary Description
Up to $19.23 an hour
