SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Fulfill the overall ministry of Grace Adventures and implement the mission of summer camps. To provide the physical, emotional, and spiritual care for campers assigned to you.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and model a vital personal growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Lead and support all bunkhouse leader/riding instructors in delivering a safe, fun, and educational ranch summer camp program experience
  •  Build relationships with staff, campers, and camper parents
  • Plan and lead camp activities
  • Oversee and maintain the standards of group riding classes and trail ride experiences
  • Obey and enforce all camp rules and policies
  • Oversee and implement behavior management with campers and staff including nighttime rounds
  • Speak at campfires (chapel)
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor(s)

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and implement Ranch summer camp and Community Worship programs with excellence
  • Complete the course of study during orientation and follow all camp policies
  • Become familiar with the camp staff, facilities and grounds
  • Keep spiritually and physically prepared to minister
  • Supervise, equip, encourage, and provide feedback and accountability to other ranch staff as part of the summer leadership team
  • Lead or attend all ranch camp activities, meals, and staff meetings. 
  • Fill out all paperwork and turn it in before you are dismissed at the end of the week
  • Support Community Worship as assigned
  • Assist with housekeeping: cleaning showers, bunkhouses, bathrooms, and buildings to meet standards of excellence
  • Implement all riding instructor and group trail riding duties

POSITION TYPE: Seasonal

HOUSING: Provided throughout contract dates

MEALS: Provided throughout contract dates whenever campers or guests are being served

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have a personal growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Knowledge of and love for God’s Word
  • Love for kids and adults and ability to communicate with them
  • Ability to lead peers with a team-based mindset
  • Experience in teaching kids
  • Good health and stamina as required to implement a summer camp program. This will involve long hours, sleeping in bunkhouses with campers and lifting at times. Ability to work in various weather climates and conditions.
  • Minimum age 18 years old (21 or older preferred)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be familiar with and adhere to CHA standards for group riding programs.
  • Must demonstrate ability to teach his or her assigned Paradise Ranch riding level(s).
  • Should be an experienced rider (equivalent to CHA level 3).
  • Must be able to handle both kids and horses in a safe, fun, and educational way.
