The successful candidate will keep the company compliant, support managers and employees through complex people issues, and deliver benefit programs that help attract and retain talent.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the ADA interactive process for accommodation requests, documenting each step and coordinating return-to-work plans with managers.
  • Partner with carriers, third-party administrators, and payroll to confirm leave eligibility, approvals, and accurate tracking of intermittent and concurrent leave.
  • Manage unemployment claims and hearings, and track workers' compensation claims from first report through return to work.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees on workplace concerns, performance issues, and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct prompt, fair, and well-documented investigations into complaints of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and policy violations.
  • Guide and train managers on compliant hiring, coaching, progressive discipline, leave, and terminations.
  • Lead the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and performance improvement plans, and support managers in delivering fair, well-documented feedback.
  • Oversee medical, dental, vision, life, disability, EAP, and 401(k) programs.
  • Lead annual open enrollment, new-hire benefits enrollment, and benefits communication to employees.
  • Collaborate with brokers and carriers on renewals, plan design, and cost management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws in every state where Edgeworth has employees, including Title VII, ADA, FLSA, ERISA, COBRA, and ACA.
  • Write, update, and maintain HR policies and the employee handbook so they reflect current law and business needs, along with required postings, personnel files, and I-9 practices.
  • Respond to agency charges and audits, and coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
  • Cross-train on every area of HR, including but not limited to talent acquisition, onboarding, offboarding, HRIS, compensation, performance management, training, and payroll support, so you and the HR Operations Manager can cover each other's responsibilities during absences.
  • Document processes, workflows, and best practices, and contribute to building and maintaining a centralized HR knowledge base.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in the HRIS, auditing records regularly to support payroll, benefits, and reporting.
  • Track and report employee relations, benefits, and leave metrics, identify trends, and recommend policy or training improvements to leadership.
  • Own complex employee relations and compliance decisions independently, collaborating with other Edgeworth divisions as needed.
  • Other tasks as assigned by management.
  • Report to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
