The base compensation for this role is $80,000 per year. In addition to base compensation, this role offers an uncapped target performance-based bonus with overall expected compensation to be between $ 115,000 and $150,000.

Territory Manager's are responsible for developing professional referral relationships that connect people to the care they need. This is a field-based business development role focused on growing referral partnerships, expanding market presence, and driving admissions growth throughout the Sacramento region.
In addition to developing referral relationships, this role will help strengthen Akua's alumni network and recovery community presence throughout the Sacramento area.

About the Role
As a Territory Manager, you will own and develop a designated Sacramento territory.
You will spend the majority of your time in the field meeting with referral partners, developing new business relationships, strengthening existing partnerships, increasing awareness of Akua's programs and services, and supporting alumni and recovery-focused initiatives throughout the community.
This is not an office-based position.
Success in this role requires strong communication skills, professionalism, relationship-building ability, organization, accountability, and a proven ability to achieve goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Grow and manage referral relationships throughout the Sacramento region
- Develop new referral partnerships with hospitals, treatment providers, clinicians, EAPs, colleges, universities, and healthcare organizations
- Educate referral partners on Akua's programs and services
- Create and execute territory growth strategies
- Attend networking events, conferences, and community meetings
- Collaborate with Admissions and Clinical teams to support client placement
- Maintain accurate CRM activity and referral documentation
- Meet and exceed outreach activity and performance goals
- Represent Akua professionally within the community
- Support alumni meetings and events
- Build and maintain relationships with Akua alumni
- Encourage alumni participation and engagement
- Strengthen Akua's presence within the recovery community
- Support recovery-focused community events and initiatives
Qualifications Required
- Must currently live within the Sacramento area and be able to travel throughout the assigned territory on a daily basis
- Strong connection to the recovery community and understanding of the recovery process
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work independently while managing a territory
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and accountable for results
- Demonstrated success in a client-facing, relationship-building, business development, sales, outreach, community engagement, or account management role
Preferred
- Personal lived experience in recovery
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- 2+ years of business development, outside sales, account management, healthcare marketing, physician relations, or outreach experience
- Healthcare sales experience
- Behavioral health outreach experience
- Existing relationships within the healthcare, behavioral health, or recovery community
- Experience organizing groups, meetings, or community events
- Experience using CRM platforms
