Ascent Emergency Medical Center is growing our team of compassionate and experienced healthcare professionals and is currently seeking a Full-Time Patient Services & Marketing Assistant to join our team.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is REQUIRED.
Schedule flexibility is required.
Ascent EMC is a freestanding Emergency Department with state-of-the-art equipment and a low patient volume, averaging approximately 8 patients per 24-hour period.
This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week hybrid position combining Patient Services Representative (PSR) shifts with marketing and client relations responsibilities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Accurately obtain and enter patient demographic, insurance, and financial information into registration software.
- Verify patient insurance information and collect copayments or other required payments.
- Answer incoming calls and direct them appropriately.
- Maintain cash till, financial records, and daily logs.
- Assist with medical records, filing, mail, faxing, copying, and scanning.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements.
- Provide professional and courteous service to patients, visitors, and staff.
Schedule: Remaining weekly hours to total 40 hours
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support ongoing client and community relationships.
- Visit physician offices and other referral sources.
- Assist with outreach and marketing initiatives.
- Coordinate and host lunches, events, and other relationship-building activities.
- Represent Ascent EMC professionally at marketing and community events.
- Maintain flexibility for occasional evening events or activities.
Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish – REQUIRED
- Minimum 1 year of front desk experience
- Previous experience verifying patient insurance information
- High school diploma or GED
- Customer service, client relations, or marketing experience preferred
- Experience working in a medical or healthcare setting preferred
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and billing/registration software
- Strong typing and data-entry skills
- Knowledge of various types of health insurance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional, outgoing, and comfortable interacting with patients, clients, and community partners
- Ability to work independently and manage both administrative and marketing responsibilities
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- CPR certification required (provided by the facility)
