Description

Join our collaborative Accounting and Finance team as an Accounting Clerk in Yarmouth Port, MA. This role offers hands-on experience across multiple accounting functions, opportunities to build your skills, and the ability to take on broader responsibilities over time.   • Assume primary responsibility for accounts payable operations across three companies, including invoice processing, payment administration, vendor support, and maintenance of accurate accounting records.
  • Process daily banking transactions and Positive Pay files, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of all banking activities.
  • Process, review, and maintain accounting transactions and related documentation.
  • Research and help resolve discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain organized and accurate accounting files, records, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with recurring monthly accounting activities and reporting needs.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to obtain information and resolve accounting-related questions.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to the Accounting department.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes through technology, automation, and more efficient workflows.
  • Serve as a flexible team resource by providing backup coverage and assistance across various accounting functions, helping ensure critical tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Take on additional accounting projects and responsibilities as knowledge and experience grow.
Requirements
  • Two years of accounting experience is preferred, including exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related accounting functions. Experience working in a professional office environment is also preferred.
  • Relevant education, training, and practical experience will be considered; a college degree is not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Good organizational, time-management, and follow-through skills.
  • Comfort working with numbers and financial information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new accounting systems, technology, and processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a collaborative team.
  • Interest in learning different accounting functions and taking on additional responsibilities over time.
