Knight Material Technologies is currently seeking a full-time Shipping and Receiving Team Member at their East Canton location. The Shipping and Receiving employee tracks, traces, and focuses on receiving, shipping, inventory management, record-keeping, loading/unloading, sorting, picking, packing, and readying shipments on time and with the highest quality within an assigned area while maintaining an environment that focuses on the Knight Material Technologies How We Work Principles of Safety and Compliance, Customer Focus, Respect, Integrity, Problem Solvers, and Teamwork.
Responsibilities:
- Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks, and trailers; checks against suppliers count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, supervisor, and purchasing officer per company policy.
- Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments.
- Performs pick & pack process for order fulfilment.
- Carefully and accurately maintains shipping records for requested categories including goods returned, dunnage, and returnable pallets.
- Maintains database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments as required.
- Notifies supervisor or lead of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
- Receive and verify bills of lading and dray tickets for shipments or receipts.
- Completes information on damage claims for in-transit damage.
- Transports materials on shipping dock with a hand truck or other vehicle as needed.
- Loads trucks or containers using a forklift.
- Performs other clerical duties.
- Be able to properly classify, document, certificate, describe, package, mark, and label hazmat materials for DOT, air and ocean shipments as required.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
- May work indoors and outdoors as needed. Exposure to extreme seasonal temperatures.
- Must be able to operate a powered industrial truck
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Forklift Experience (preferred)
Physical Requirements: (With reasonable accommodation)
- Extensive walking and standing
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility
