Summary Description:
Operates Automatic Molding Machine to produce quality molds for aluminum castings.
Essential Functions:
- Reports to work 15 minutes prior to start of the shift, to turn machine on and inspect equipment prior to running. All defects are to be reported to the department leader immediately
- Inspects patterns for nicks, dents and other damage prior to putting on machine to begin molding
- Notifies Leader of any of the above defects prior to putting on the machine to begin molding
- Reads shop card and follows all directions that are on the shop card
- Operates the automatic molding machine as trained, adding cores and other inserts as required from the shop card instructions
- Monitor each cycle and inspect the molds as they are made, making any adjustments that are necessary to ensure a quality casting can be poured.
- Blows out the finished molds, ensures that pour holes are open and sets screens when required
- Maintains accurate count on molds made during production run and enters into the Odyssey system when job is complete
- Properly punch on and off of correct shop orders in the Odyssey system.
- When job is completed, removes the pattern, replaces it with a new pattern and repeats the above operations
- Assists maintenance during breakdowns
- Perform general housekeeping and paperwork (routing, updates directions and QA) as needed
- Carries out all duties and responsibilities in full accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures
- Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned
Requirements
Skills or Experience Required:
Must have High School diploma or GED; equivalent job experience is a plus. Forklift experience is a plus.

Must be able to use the following machines, tools, equipment and/or work aids:
Cranes, hand tools, automated molding machines and air hose
