Parts Manager

 Florida Utility Trailers is seeking an experienced Parts Manager for a temporary assignment to lead our Parts Department and help drive sales, inventory performance, customer service, and day-to-day operations. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who knows parts, understands inventory, enjoys developing a team, and can step in quickly to keep a busy department organized and moving forward. 


What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Parts Department.
  • Coach, train, develop, and hold Parts team members accountable for performance.
  • Drive parts sales, gross profit, customer retention, and department growth.
  • Oversee counter sales, outside sales, service parts support, deliveries, and customer orders.
  • Maintain accurate and well-organized inventory while monitoring stocking levels, demand, aged inventory, and inventory turns.
  • Manage purchasing, replenishment, special orders, transfers, returns, cores, and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure the Service Department and technicians receive accurate and timely parts support.
  • Monitor department performance, including sales, gross profit, expenses, inventory investment, and productivity.
  • Resolve escalated customer concerns and ensure customers receive accurate information regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and alternatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional Parts Department and warehouse.
  • Partner with Service, Sales, Accounting, Operations, and other branches to support overall business needs.

What We're Looking For

  • Progressive experience in trailer parts, heavy-duty truck parts, automotive parts, inventory, warehouse operations, purchasing, or a related field.
  • Previous parts management or leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of semi-trailer components and aftermarket parts preferred.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, purchasing, pricing, gross profit, and parts sales.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop employees.
  • Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable using ERP, inventory management, point-of-sale, and other business systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional industry training or education is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record when company driving is required.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position that may involve working throughout the parts counter, warehouse, shop, loading, and outdoor areas. Candidates must be able to safely lift or move parts and materials weighing up to 50 pounds and work around an active service and warehouse environment.
