Reporting to the Senior Director of Administration & Planning, the Assistant Director of Planning provides leadership and day-to-day oversight of the Agency’s planning, research, development, compliance monitoring, and performance management functions. This position is responsible for coordinating grant development activities, organizational reporting, strategic planning implementation, data analysis, contract compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives. Provides day-to-day leadership and oversight of the Agency’s Planning, Research, Development, and Compliance functions, ensuring effective coordination of priorities, projects, and operational activities. Supervises and develops assigned staff, establishing clear expectations, promoting accountability, and supporting professional growth. Coordinates implementation of the Agency’s Strategic Plan monitors progress toward established goals and objectives and provides reporting and analysis to support organizational decision-making. Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of organizational, program, and community needs data; develops and maintains dashboards, scorecards, management reports, and other performance measurement tools to support leadership and Board reporting. Oversees agency-wide grant development activities, including identification of funding opportunities, proposal development, budget coordination, application submission, required reporting, and maintenance of a funding opportunity pipeline. In collaboration with the Senior Director of Administration & Planning, establishes annual funding development goals, monitors progress toward funding targets, and supports implementation of funding strategies aligned with organizational priorities. Oversees internal compliance monitoring, quality assurance, organizational assessments, and performance review activities; prepares reports for Executive Leadership and the Board of Directors and works collaboratively with program and administrative leadership to address findings and implement corrective actions. Facilitates program evaluations, community needs assessments, organizational standards reviews, and cross-functional planning efforts to identify trends, improve service delivery, strengthen compliance, and support agency priorities. Conducts research and analysis related to community needs, funding opportunities, emerging trends, and organizational priorities to support planning, business development, and strategic growth efforts. Serves as a resource to Senior Directors and program leadership by providing technical assistance related to planning, performance measurement, data reporting, compliance requirements, case management systems, and continuous improvement initiatives. Assists with the development and integration of new programs, initiatives, special projects, and agency-wide planning activities as assigned by the Senior Director of Administration & Planning. Represents the Agency at meetings, committees, task forces, and community events as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Nonprofit Management, Human Service, or related field, plus 5 years’ experience. Additional experience may substitute for Degree. The ideal candidate will have experience in strategic planning, grant development, organizational performance management, and continuous improvement. Must be an experienced supervisor and possess strong skills in compliance oversight, data analysis, and performance reporting. The candidate must also have experience supervising staff, managing projects, and working collaboratively with leadership to achieve organizational goals.
