We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Shear Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating shearing machines and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate shearing machines to cut metal materials according to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine job requirements
- Measure and mark materials for cutting, using measuring tools such as rulers, calipers, and squares
- Inspect and maintain shearing equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety
- Monitor the production process and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any issues to the supervisor
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years experience as a Shear Operator or in a similar role
- Knowledge of shearing machines, tools, and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety and quality
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials, as needed
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime when necessary
