Description

 The Inside Account Manager supports the sales team by preparing quotes, gathering pricing, and coordinating with suppliers and internal teams. This role helps ensure quotes are accurate, delivered on time, and followed up on, allowing Account Managers to focus on customer relationships and business development.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and responsive, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. They are comfortable working with suppliers, learning technical products and services, and supporting multiple Account Managers.


Responsibilities:

 

Quote building — the core of the role

• Build service quotes from technician recommendations and from Account Manager and Service Manager requests.

• Source and price parts, materials, subcontractors, and rentals directly from approved vendors.

• Start quotes for Account Managers in the field, with pricing ready for them to finalize and send.

• Apply company pricing and margin guidelines to every quote and send smaller quotes directly within approval guidelines.

• Support repair and specialty quotes by adding service-side materials, working with the teams that price the work.

Quote follow-through

• Regularly review the quotes you created or supported, and act on any that are unsent, unanswered, or nearing expiration.

• Keep open recommendations moving so each is quoted or resolved on time and follow up with customers on quotes you send directly.

Vendor knowledge and records

• Maintain vendor contacts, pricing information, and quote templates, and keep accurate records of quoting activity.

As capacity allows

• Reach out to dormant and lost accounts and support first-contact outreach.

Requirements

 • 2+ years in inside sales, sales support, estimating, purchasing, or quoting in a technical business; mechanical, HVAC/R, industrial, or construction preferred.

• Ability to read a technician report or scope of work and turn it into a complete list of materials, subcontractors, and rentals.

• Strong vendor sourcing and pricing skills; comfortable working with suppliers by phone and email.

• Accurate, high-volume work for multiple internal customers, with clear prioritization.

• Comfortable learning and using business and quoting software.

• Strong problem-solving and communication; confident pushing internally for answers.


Preferred

• Experience in industrial refrigeration, cold storage, or mechanical contracting.

• Working knowledge of refrigeration equipment and technical terminology.
